I think BA are prioritising NYC for obvious reasons....can't imagine MAD being a priority, especially as having a long haul product is already an upgrade from CE!

I think the main purpose of that BA460 being a 777 is the cargo size / capacity. I get the impression that the 777 is the perfect fit and that this is the main reason for it doing this route. If that's true then I guess maybe we could see Club Suite on this route, but if it does happen then I would expect from next April at the earliest. This route switches to a 77W over the winter. As it's only a short rotation it may be feasable to slot it in somewhere.

On the other hand if the 777 itself is less important, but rather any widebody will do, then maybe it could switch to a 787?

That's my best guess! Keen to hear other's views.

agreed. 'upgrading' the 777 to MAD is not something BA would even be thinking about - the 777 is only on that route for cargo reasons. if it suits them to use a refurbished 777 in between long-haul rotations, they will but they aren't actively going to move a refurbed one onto the route.

they have done a 789 to MAD in the past - can't remember for how long but again, that was cargo driven rather than comfort or even capacity.

Wonder what the chances of BA185 having this by May 2020... (I know the tail nos rotate so can't be specific).

I think G-VIIG is due to enter service with CS around the 12th of December, so guessing it will start it's refit around the time that G-YMMD is finished (mid november). Maybe they are doing those 2 one after the other?

Does it? Can still see individual suites on a few dummy bookings through late November?

Am keeping an eye on it as am on the Saturday switch 115 in mid-November. Fingers, toes, eyes crossed that it sticks!

Which layout?

if you are asking about the layout with 8F, then just the one aircraft that entered service last week. (G-RAES).

The next will be G-VIIG in December according to the wiki in the 777 Y to go 10 across thread, which is referenced at the beginning of this thread.

There are other 777 aircraft with different layouts being refurbed in the meantime. Again have a look at the wiki in the 777 Y to go 10 across thread.

I see these are all 777 200-ERs. Will club suites be installed in 777 300s?
Thanks!
