UPDATE:
I noticed the offer was still at $192 today so called into BA and was told the money I had already paid for a seat selection in economy would go towards whatever I'd pay to select a seat WTP. Still don't like paying for a seat assignment AFTER paying for an upgrade, but that lessened the blow somewhat. In total, I paid $223 for the upgrade. Looking forward to trying out the refurbished WTP.

Hope so. I got the whole RT ticket (flying back on American from LHR) initially for only $462, so I'm paying $685 total for a RT with one way in PE (and the leg I need sleep on, no less), including seat selection.
From what I can tell watching a couple reviews (though can't find any good ones of the new 777-200 cabins), looks like they give you half a bottle of wine at least in PE; looking forward to that and some ZZZZZs.
