Almost every airline with an A350-1000 has a flying dorm. It must be the structure of the aircraft or something.

I do not get the issue with the 'flying dorm' thing. I fly AA 777-300 from JFK to LHR a lot, and often prefer the middle of the cabin for a night flight. It is quiet, no people queuing for bathrooms, no loud crew etc. As far as I am concerned the further from galley for a night flight - the better!

I’m guessing you’ve never flown a 747 UD all-J that BA flies

not sure he’s ever said that?

Just last month to Cape Town and probably 10 times last year to JFK. Personally for a night flight I sometimes find the floor boards a bit bouncing upstairs at night on the 744. I get that I am in a minority view here. .

Do you think that's too many? Too few?

I have a recollection of him saying that when BA introduced the A380. Anyone else remember that?

I do not get this wanting to be "further from the galley" thing. I fly BA A380 (UD) and BA 747 (UD) quite a bit, and I prefer the illusion that I'm not really in a tube flying through the air several miles up with several hundred other people. The fewer people I can see the better. Noise cancelling technology or earplugs takes care of any galley noise, and with the 747 especially, two toilets for 20 people ensure there's never really a queue, even when that 40 minutes to landing announcement is made. Give me a small cabin, in close proximity to the loos and the galley if it has to be, any day over a flying dorm. But each to their own!

It sounds like few WCs for a lot of people, but then I usually travel CW on UD on 747 (2 loos for 20 pax) or F.

I haven´t really thought about the ratio on other planes. Maybe I should.

I wonder how good the service will be in WTP, seems a long way away from the galley.

How come this plane doesn’t have the electronic blinds that I’ve seen on other A350s? Is it an optional feature that BA have decided against (based on cost)?
