Just so that I can fully prepare for the experience, will this be pre-takeoff or once airborne?
Pre-takeoff would be a bit premature surely?

And saltiness unheeded.

The endless choice of grape,
The offer of Chicken or Beef,
Compares not with the Nut enigma,
This thread will not be brief.

Indeed. Best to wait for lift off, allow the pressure to stabilise and then begin the warm nut receptacle emptying procedures.

Worth being wary of turbulence too - have a napkin to hand in case nut residue should end up on your chin or - heaven forbid - in your hair.

There was a young man who loved nuts
But less so all those BA cuts
When warm became cold
He acted quite bold
And his BoB made the CSM strut

I considered it safe to assume
Warmth of the nut and legume
But low and behold
They were salty and cold...
Seems the benefit's only legroom

I recently flew with BA
On a red-eye direct to LA
Much to my surprise
Right before my eyes
They gave me a mix from Bombay

There was a young steward named Ali
Who warmed passengers' nuts in the galley
A surly Dame asked
How he did it so fast
'But Ma'am', he quipped, 'rectally!'

On my AA flight yesterday, the woman next to me put her warm squishy cookie right next to my warm crunchy nuts.* She was so engrossed in her Kindle that every time she went for a munch, she'd finger my nuts.

*For some reason my nuts maintain their taut consistency when warmed by AA, but not by BA. Why is this?

It's true that I have noticed that when my nuts have been warmed, they exude a certain - actually quite pleasant - aroma.

The very serious problem I face, however, with wafting my nuts about until they reach a more palatable temperature is that a cooled-down nut is no match for a never-warmed nut. The texture is softened. It is a lesser nut.

There were some warmed nuts in First Class
To be munched between sips from a glass
Salty and sweet
A delectable treat
Now will it be steak or Sea Bass?
