Hoping to book seats on the last AMS rotation on Tuesday morning but the stupid-o-clock start means driving from down south... I've had Hounslow West Tube recommended as an option, does this practically work? £5.50 a day is a lot cheaper than the Heathrow terminal options!

My first 767 trip was in the 1980s with Britannia Airways of all airlines. I have worked this aircraft and like it a lot. Whilst it is always sad to see a Venerable Old Lady of the Skies fold her wings (I felt sadder about the passing of the DC-10 fleet as it happens), would we want BA to be like AA with all those museum piece aircraft like the MD-80s? Nice aircraft to fly but such old tech nowadays.
One thing I never hear is "Thank Heavens BA do not fly the 757 on Transatlantic" it is a great blessing,

someone never experienced the 757 services from BHX (short lived as they were).
noisey 767 or quieter 321 without flashing lights and binging call bells. No competition. 767 should have gone years ago.

There is a short note from Richard D'Cruze, BA's Inflight Entertainment and Technology Manager, in the Blue editions of High Life Magazine for November 2018, marking the demise of the 767. Page 117. To paraphrase, he notes that this is the end of 93 years of BA and its heritage companies providing inflight entertainment to overhead central screens. As he noted, this is one change that is unlikely to provoke a customer backlash, anymore than the passing of the stethoscope style headphones of yore.
