LHR ATC tower evacuation & Altea down [18 July 2018]

All ground movements at Heathrow currently held due to fire alarm in tower.

Aircraft are being diverted to other airports. First BA casualty is the Nantes flight, diverted to Luton (BA387).

[Luton AIrport is 80 years old today/this week, depending on your point of view, by way of a random factoid]

Eurocontrol is suggesting the outage will last until 1740 BST

Would this explain the one and a half hour delay to the 1905 departure from Stuttgart? Showing on time departure but landing at 2119. Any info appreciated!!

Just arrived in T5 Ling stay to see what was probably the first aircraft to go around. Here to meet a friend from GLA which now appears to be inbound.

uh oh - she’s off to Gatwick!

Your inbound flight BA920 took off 1h18 late and is due to land at 1919 local time.
