I did LYS recently, departed at 20.40 and on the 06.50 return. Can’t imagine why! Great flight out with only 2 in CE.

Awesome. I went in November 2017.

I even walked from the airport to the Rock Hotel, where I stayed last time, gave me a good tour of town and great to walk across the runway.

Hey folks, just booked for me and my hubbie (out: Saturday 10:30, back: Sunday 15:15.) Can someone add to the wiki?
For a central hotel at a cheap rate, the newly opened Holiday Inn Express is on £77 including breakfast.

Welcome to the do.

I suspect most of us are already booked into the HIX. Breakfast is included in all rates. Did you get a flexible rate or advance purchase? If AP it’s gone up a few quid since the weekend, although not surprising as a decent number of rooms for the Saturday will have been sold.

Wasn't too bad (£72), which is the same as we are paying when we are there for the night two weeks earlier. :-)

I know your were not asking me, but the HIX for me was 80 for no deposit or payment down. Just in case. And it was 73.15 for an advanced rate.

In fact HIX is probably the most central of the hotels, at least for the main pedestrian area. The Rock Hotel and O'Callaghans where we have previously stayed are the opposite side of town to the airport.

Have started to populate the opening posts on the thread. The accommodation one is fairly self explanatory. Interesting to note that the hotel advertises a 24hour lounge.

The third post is related to activities, including eating and drinking in GIB. If anybody has any ideas or suggestions then please do share. I don't propose doing anything too formal or actually anything that requires a lot of planning, but would be good to have something prepared even if it's just a venue for a drink on the Saturday evening. Also, it's a little too soon to be organising anything. Personally, I like the idea of a few drinks and a meal (even if it is just a pub meal that we can get as and when we like). Given that the first flight back is at 3.15pm we may want to look to have a plan for to do something on the Sunday morning - again, either organised or ad hoc.

Fortunately, there is no pool and so @bisonrav will not need to model his mankini this time (those of you going to PHX will know what I am referring to!)
