I have to question this - my understanding is a plane is not a public space (and similar with airport lounges) but a private space use of which is subject to the terms of carriage of the operator e.g. British Airways and they have specific rules on interaction with other passengers i.e. you must not do anything that may cause discomfort etc to another passenger. Is taking a photo without permission tantamount to causing discomfort? I'm not sure but I can easily see BA taking the side of someone who complains

Yes indeed - section 11a " behaved in a way which causes discomfort, inconvenience, damage or injury to the crew or other passengers " which also contains this doozy " allowed your physical or mental state to become affected by drink or drugs "

It's arguable, but neither the celeb in question or their "heavy" complained to BA, instead choosing to take matters in to their own hands. As noted they do not have any right to tell another person to delete a photo or to seize a phone. Unless someone was really harassing another passenger which clearly wasn't happening here, I imagine the most action I can see BA cc taking would be to ask the passenger to refrain from taking anymore photos.

I’d like to think that just common decency and manners would cover this. Everyone is entitled to privacy surely. He wasn’t ‘at work’. Although maybe a polite request would have had a different outcome. If he hadn’t have said anything would she had taken more? Would others have joined in?

John Torode is currently helping himself to a late breakfast in T5 Galleries First. He is clearly less picky that I thought.

Please forgive me for the poor lyrics... I can’t stop singing now.

I Just wanna fly first
First with you ba no more
I'll really do something to fly that way, though
Oh but the PE is bad
The PE is bad
