Need a year-end TP run (ex-LON) to make / retain status?
Some tips for searching for the year-end TP run for newcomers, the below is indicative only, but hopefully provides a bit of guidance for relatively straightforward runs ex-LON. Some information on how to use ITA matrix is in post #4 of this thread (or just click here) along with these ideas, might come in handy. Feel free to share results, problems or general questions in the thread as these may not always work and there might be better deals out there...

For overnight trips remember to check BA and Iberia for their flights and hotel option as well, can get hotel for almost no extra cost at times

Need 80 TPs or fewer
Club Europe return somewhere close by is best - DUB, AMS and JER usually cheapest along with UK domestic returns. Additionally you may find that trips in to mainland Europe require a one night stay whereas the cheapest domestic CE returns do not have any minimum stay so can be booked as a same day return. If doing a back to back AMS and JER can be easier than DUB for an immediate turnaround - more information can be found in the back to back thread listed in the forum dashboard. The BA.com low fare finder can be very useful.

If you need as few as 45 TPs you might consider booking economy flights and hoping for a proactive online upgrade offer - but they're not guaranteed to materialise (so not one if you have no more time left in your TP collection year). Alternatively, booking a return to one of the 40 tier point destinations with one way in CE and the return in ET (or vice versa if cheaper). UK domestic route, Bilbao, Jersey and Amsterdam seem the most cost effective for this.

Need 85-120 TPs
Iberia flights via MAD to regional Spanish airports will get you 120 TPs as the domestic Spanish flights are 20 TPs in business. Under £300 including hotel can be available. Check BIO, GRX, VLC, BCN, SVQ etc. Example here

Need 125-160 TPs
Take a look at the shorthaul plus routes earning 80 TPs each way in business listed in the first post of this thread, MLA, IST, HEL and RAK are usually available. If time sensitive take a look at BA flight and hotel option to HEL, where you can usually get the last BA flight out on a Saturday, airport hotel and first return Sunday for well under £500.

Alternative options include positioning to JER and flying JER-LGW-XXX (AMS usually works well and avoids switching airports).

Need more than 160 TPs
You'll most likely be heading north then - OSL or VNO via HEL will get you 240 TPs, as will JER-LGW/LHR-HEL e.g. LHR-HEL-OSL for £520.
DUB-LHR-HEL return (or return to LHR) is currently a very efficient way of hitting 200-240 TPs

BA/AA Need 1540TP before Sept 8I presume I can ask for the 2 week grace period (so, say between now and Sept ~26). Budget limited... 1800 max? I can stretch but I'd really rather limit at 1500 or actually as little as possible.

Based in London, right by LCY but obviously can go anywhere. Can go absolutely anywhere. Had GGL for years and would be absolutely gutted to miss out — this year's just been an absolute personal nightmare so both work and personal travel mostly went out the window. I'm just short of gold, as you can see.

If there's anything else I can provide please do let me know. I can be flexi with work but cramming this into a weekend or couple of days would be good.

I am free this weekend (Sept 1-2) — any run I could do to grab a few? I'm a bit clueless.
Not a chance on that budget. And would even struggle if time wasn’t important. Very few opportunities to get £1/TP. Being realistic just stick with gold and plan a run to CCR next year.

ahhh that brings back memories. Did TIP twice. Once for Hong Kong in F for about £450 and the DPS via SIN and PER for around £800. Seeing TIP was s bonus and my family and I were treated so well by the hotels and everyone we met in Libya.

pinksocks, look at trips to HEL and trips within trips from HEL. Also positioning to DUB and dub-LHR-HEL-lhr.
Look at Lhr-Lux as well.

Going for gold need 595TP’s by 8 October

Been silver for a few years, now within a TP run away from gold.

Decided I am going to go for it as I will be flying a lot next year.

Can anyone recommend the most cost effective route to secure 595 TP’s by 8th October? Ideally an interesting ‘all in one hit’ either state side or Far East would be preferred to multiple runs to the same destination (LHR - HEL x 4 does not fill me with joy...)

if anyone else wants to join me get in touch, always good to travel with fellow FTer’s

I think the problem is that there is only 1 week left, and the 2 weeks grace period won't apply to GGL re-qualification. 1540 TPs = 11 long-haul flights in J, so 6 return trips to Moscow

I can up it if needed. Such a shame to have (almost) wasted the opp to keep GGL at 3000.

If you increase your budget then it will be possible, but you would need to get all the flights competed by the end of 8th September. LHR/HEL/ARN will earn 240 for around £500 (or it was) with no minimum stay. But you would be looking at having to do 6 of these so would still struggle with time. Time wise you would be better off flying B2B to JFK/BOS in F. But that would be ridiculously expensivez

In all honesty I will be surprised if you can do it without paying really daft money. I would justbstart to look to next year and look to regain GGL and CCR at 5k points. It will probably be cheaper than doing anything before the end of your collection year in September

another option is ARN/OSL/TLL/RIX -HEL-LIS
some possibilites available before sep 8th for ~£630 earning 360TP (HEL-LIS is 140)
still need a few trips though and its all shorthaul aircraft

ex-MAN / ex-INV are both cheaper than ex-DUB on this occasion.

ex-JER is technically the cheapest but requires an LGW-LHR transfer which would make the overall cost higher
