Onboard WiFi has been introduced to BA's fleet and is being marketed as Highlife Connect. This thread is to track the rollout. See https://www.britishairways.com/en-gb.../wifi-on-board for BA's FAQ on the system.

I flew on G-CIVS last night. Some points of note:
I took a few screenshots from my phone of the interface which I've attached.
- There was a free 1 hour option, sponsored by Visa (see screenshots)
- The WiFi was part of the cabin announcements before takeoff
- The WiFi announcement including the fact that video or voice calls were strictly prohibited

The 1-hour option might explain why my neighbour emitted a ping about once every 30 seconds for about that length of time. It was irritating, but then he was a bit of a DYKWIA type anyway, so obviously wanted everyone to know that he's so important that he gets a piece of spam a couple of times a minute. I think that the rule ought to be that devices must be in silent mode, because notification sounds are as disturbing as calls. I think that even the loud snoring that replaced that was less offensive.

Inflight WiFi was available on a recent flight I took. I thought the quality was good; just a shame that the value of the service was diminished by the absence of sockets in economy on the 747s. It's also a pity that, unlike AA, they don't allow you to use the access you paid for on another device, so long as only one device is used at a time.
However, I never received any e-mailed receipt for my payment. And having e-mailed support, they are clearly struggling to produce one as well. I've told them that if they can't produce it in a week so that I can put it in my expense claim, they will leave me with no other choice than to dispute the charge with my credit card company. Has anybody else had this problem (and no, it's not in my junk mail folder)?

That reminded me:
If Wifi is now becoming more common on BA planes and you use more than one device or travel with a partner, it might be worth looking into something like this - https://www.usatoday.com/story/trave...ices/83284950/
Probably not that exact device, but I found it interesting that someone had already thought about that in conjunction with in-plane Wifi

Flew on IIY last week. Wifi was announced as available, the BA Wifi ssid was visible, but all I got on any device (two of which I'd previously used happily on the wifi fitted 86J 747s) was a Gogo Inflight "service unavailable" message when redirected to the captive portal.
Still some wrinkles to be ironed out it seems.

If FR24 is right I'll be on TBB (which was in Shannon earlier in the week) tomorrow night. I'll report back then if wifi is available (or Thursday afternoon if it isn't!).
