On one ticket MUC-LHR-MAN-LHR-LIN on the 28th comes to 853 EUR in Club Europe. I guess it depends on how much you value Gold status.

You can't get to HEL in time for the AY795 at 1605 so would have to come back to LHR anyway

Quickest would be buying a business return to Helsinki, that's 160TP. Use Avios to discount the price, you'll still get the TP.

At the moment the cheapest CE return on a short haul + route is IST.

Some of the exLGW routes can be cheaper but I class is usually gone a few months before the flight date.

Should there be a sticky for this regular question although I appreciate each request has its own particular focus etc.?

If you travel the night before from Germany on a return ticket (pick a random date/cheapest possible economy return) - you can get a biz 'one way' for about £360. Cheaper if u can leave sunday morning.
Then the Manchester return on 28th is £200 taking the 6.45am flight
Then a lhr biz - Milan return random day (oct?) economy is about £242
So could be done for £7-800 if you can squeeze some time on sunday.

Make TP run thread a sticky? I put a guide to this sort of stuff in the wiki there because it's so frequent

if you can get to LGW - LGW-TFS-LGW is 160 TP in CE. Usually you can get a decent price - I just did it for £250.

I guess that is probably not the best thing I can do with my money!
BKK it is then!

Edit: CaroFos gave me an idea. If you can spare a day the following weekend, build your trip as MUC-LHR-MUC/MIL and nest another LHR-MUC/MIL-LHR, depending of course on if you are in MUC or MIL the following weekend, or indeed want to get back. Comes out at around €800.
