160 points needed for gold - a challenge!

Hi All,

This is a bit speculative and light hearted - please don't take too seriously!

I realised I will be reasonably close to gold by the time my tier point year ends on 8th September - I will be short by 160 points.

Realistically the only chance I have is a one way trip I need to take on 28th August from either Munich or Salzburg to Milan.

Does anyone have any clever ideas on how this might be done? I guess it's a bit of a long shot!

Cheers

Brutha

Remember the two week discretionary extension.

Thanks, that is indeed something to think about!

I suspect it won't help me much given my current travel plan, but you never know!

Hehe, you are right, money and time will solve the problem! But I am constrained, I have one day, leaving from Munich or Salzburg, need to get to Milan that night

I take it that MUC-LHR-MIL in Club Europe (and return) wouldn't work for you?

If not, MUC-LHR on Finnair in business on the 27th, with an overnight at HEL, would get you 120 and then you only need the 40TP from a one-way to Milan on the 28th.

MUN-LHR-MILAN in CE

With a cheeky LHR-MAN b2b in CE

80 points each and you're done.

MUC-LHR | nested LHR-AMS-LHR | LHR-MXP all in CE

BA947 07:20-08:30
BA434 11:45-14:05
BA439 16:20-16:40
BA582 18:00-21:00

for 40/40/40/40 can be done in a day. Wouldn't like to do the /TP on that though

Edit SZG-LGW-AMS-LHR-MXP might be a hair cheaper but still not worth doing it for a TP run (and the SZG-LGW starts at 11:45 so you may well not have time)

I think, with your restrictions, it is not possible for a decent price.

How would you do the LHR-MAN bit? in between MUC-LHR and LHR-Milan?

I suspect you may be right! Thought I'd give it a chance though before I give up and book a cheapo flight MUC-Milan!

Yep, book early flight into LHR from Munich and a late one out to Milan.

Gives you plenty of time for a b2b to Manchester or Amsterdam.

I think BM operate MUC-BGY. I would be taking that, purely for nostalgia.

Thanks! More for curiosity than anything else I gave that a go.... I had to select a later flight to Milan, but eventually it gave me 1,300 EUR or so....

I guess that is probably not the best thing I can do with my money!
