That's good news - just hope they have bolted down the wobbly J seats by then.

As of 25 March 2018 New York JFK – Manchester 1 daily seasonal 757 service cancelled.

Also Chicago O’Hare – Manchester eff 24MAR18 787-8 replaces 767 in S17, 1 daily.
For clarity it's not definitely happening that BA will take over the route (as per the thread title). All that's definitely happening is AA is scrapping it.

Yes, sorry I should have made that clear.

Bad news if you're down the back.

I was under the impression that AA's 787 aircraft all had Premium Economy but looking at the new service on aa.com it doesn't seem to be offered. Seems I am mistaken there.

Might have been a nice option for some.

The 787-9 has premium economy but not the 787-8 which is probably what will be used on the ORD-MAN flight.

...which will add a further layer of confusion and inflexibility, as far as open jaws go, as the MAN-PHL does have PE, being an A330-200.

A330s have PE now? I think you talk about Main Cabin Extra which is not PE.

This flying lark is easy, you always know what you're going to get.

Thanks. Maybe they could have tested the market with PE which I would have thought would be popular.

No, I mean Premium Economy; it's coming to the A330-200s, but not the -300s.

https://www.aa.com/i18n/travel-info/...um-economy.jsp

A Premium Economy ticket includes special amenities in the air and on the ground with seats between Business and Main Cabin. You can buy a ticket on our 787-9 and A330-200 aircraft as well as select 777-200 planes flying to Hawaii and on international routes over 3,000 miles.

No sad loss in my opinion. Personally thought the service by AA was one of the worst I have ever had long haul..MAN-PHL on ex US Air 330 was just bearable and the elderly 767 ex JFK to MAN was a 2-2-2 business class disaster with a pretty shoddy crew in the cabin one individual excluded. Good riddance I say and it's obvious that AA care even now less for MAN...

Each to their own of course but I struggle to see how dropping a route which was well subscribed without replacing it is a positive for the the paying public in the region. I personally regret any route losses from MAN and welcome any additions irrespective of operator.

BA have virtually abandoned MAN over several years and for many (me included) that has been a real loss.

Ah, alright. Thanks. I didn' expect the A332 to be retrofitted.
