The LGW F lounge was closed early tonight as ‘there weren’t enough people’ which really doesn’t actually cut it anymore even by BA’s short changing of service standards

Will hit gold for the first time at the end of Oct
As Gatwick is my local airport
what is different with Gatwick first over Galleries?
What champagne do they serve?
Scotch?
Does anyone have a recent menu or is there one online?
Is it buffet breakfast..... muffin, bacon etc as per next-door, or is there something different?

I was there last sunday for the lunchtime flight to Malta. They had both a buffet and waiter served breakfast. I ordered the full English which was very good. I then ordered a cream tea when the menu changed. Not crowded at all (but neither was the Club side) and definitely a nice experience.
Can't remember what the champagne was but it was different to that available in Club and on the plane in CE. The food and drinks are a notch above the Club side (They had Johnny Walker Black and Red I think) but otherwise its more or less the same as Club but smaller and more intimate if not busy.
Sadly I am just about to loose my Gold status

I have to admit, although I enjoyed the space very much, I can’t quite see the point of it anymore – there are no first class flights from Gatwick as far as I know. I suspect that very soon it will simply become a quiet end of the main lounge and all be opened up. Enhanced-away – I think we call it.
