A complex question for which I need some help, please. Last Summer, the six of us in my singing group each got this amazing six-sector itinerary - with at least a week between each sector - with four in long-haul J, for £3,400. The routing looked like this: CPH-LHR-ORD-LHR-DFW/LAX-LHR-ZRH. I want to do something similar this year (eventually using a GUF1 to upgrade all the long-hauls to F). The sectors I need to do are as follows:

31st October 2017 - LHR-JFK (morning)
20th November 2017 - LAX-LHR (preferably the 280)
17th January 2018 - LHR-YYZ (the 93)
29th January 2018 - IAD-LHR (preferably the last of the day)

The positioning/final sectors can each be taken within 24 hours of the first/last flights, and the only absolute criterion is that each long-haul sector has A availability for the GUF1 to work (the only flight that's totally fixed is the flight to Toronto on January 17th). I've tried using the ITA Matrix, but I'm not sure I'm good enough to make an itinerary this complex work. The cheapest I can find is with IST at the beginning and end, for a total of US$5,425.05 (approx. £4,260). I'm confident there's better! Does anyone have any ideas?

Also, can someone explain how these itineraries work? Is it treated as IST-LON-IST with a very strange and convoluted routing? Or as IST-JFK/IAD-IST with a strange LAX-LHR-YYZ thrown in the middle? If anyone could qualify, I'd be very grateful.

Thanks so much!
Here's an itinerary from IST for 2998 GBP - requires two positionings to IST, which are more than compensated by the substantial savings:

And if you don't mind using CAI as your starting point, you can squeeze several hundred pounds off the price again.
Itinerary starting in CAI for 2371 GBP - shame BA will take the 787 off the 154/155 on 28/10, and swap it for a 321.

I managed to book in J DUB-LHR-SFO then open jaw LAS-LAX-LHR-GLA-EDI-DUB for £1,390 per person.

EDI-DUB is the day after I get back to Glasgow (where I am based) so I can complete the last leg HBO.

Managed to book via BA for less than AA and Google Flgihts said it would be.

I did phone BA to book so I could pay in £.

Service centre were excellent and I was all booked in under 15 minutes.
Won't your bags be checked all the way through to DUB?

I don't believe that's possible with a GLA/EDI airport change?

Ah, misunderstood... didn't realise that was an airport change (thinking about it, a flight from GLA to EDI would be a bit ridiculous...)

I agree I don't think it will be an issue. I can't see BA sending them along the M8.

My view is it will be along the lines of flying into LHR and the connecting flight being from LGW.

Plus physically the flight is the next day. I get into GLA at 1330 and the EDI flight is the next morning, so that helps.

Credit to Mileage Run Premium Fares - there's some amazing Fares on *A exVIE

Fingers crossed OneWorld match... if not these still might be handy for someone considering the exDUB aren't great and date restrictive

They enhanced it away themselves ! To be fair, the exDUB - USA deal is still tasty around £1,200 and you could lower that if you have plenty of Avios to spare

If anyone can be interested I am seeing HEL-LAS starting at 1470 eur, various dates from July on, plus a possibility for 29 June.

I didn't went further than the "select flights" page, as I am in a bit of a hurry.

Back in the day British Caledonian did an LHR-EDI-GLA-LHR during the day, off peak times. THe flight time wheels up to touch down was about 14 mins

I've done it once! Early morning flight, maybe 22 years or so ago. As we were about the leave Glasgow, en route to London, the captain announced that we would be stopping off in Edinburgh to pick up some passangers due to a cancelled flight. Felt like we were in the air for about 5 minutes!

Hello

Im about to book an ex-Dub trip to New York on the INX4D4Z1 fare that KARFA posted above. DUB-LHR-JFK and back in October is 1390 Euro in Club Europe and Club world.

However I am booking it on AA.com but all four flights are on British Airways with BA flight no.s. There are no AA codeshares or flights in the routing I want to do. Once I book on AA.com will this trip/flights show in MMB on the BA website. I know AA uses Sabre and BA Amadeus. I know when I have booked before and it was part AA part BA, some flights showed up on MMB. I have a BAEC account but not an AA one. If it doesnt show can I use the old trick of putting the AA ref no. into the Qantas website to find the Amadeus PNR?

Hope this all makes sense
