All the news is on the other thread started by c-w-s >>> http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/briti...ba-lounge.html
Knowing my friend as a regular traveler but non FT'er he will get there about 15 minutes before his flight anyway and have no time for the lounge!

Just noticed from the BA page on LGW
https://www.britishairways.com/en-gb/information/airport-information/london-gatwick
That there is no mention of priority boarding or lounge access on Business UK tickets.
Is this a new enhancement to LGW only???

There is priority boarding at LGW South, and the signs in South explicitly mention Business UK, but as stifle indicated in another thread, you will need to know it's there! I'll update the main posts above later today with a photo to illustrate the difficulty and how to get around it. BA management are aware of this, it wasn't so obvious until it opened (you need a crowd of BA passengers at a gate to see the problem). It's mainly a problem for the GLA and EDI gates, due to the biometric reconciliation, which is done slightly differently to North. But layz is correct, within a few months we will exit from Business UK and move to Club Europe on domestics.

Me - well this is all rather spiffy
agent - as if BA would do anything tacky
me - stifles laugh
agent - smiles
Though it is rather smart though how long the carpet stays clean remains to be seen!
then re lounges
agent - you can use the speedy bird lounge
me - ah yes the old VS lounge
agent - well it did used to be the BO-AC lounge
and yes she did call it the speedy bird!

Aside from the lounge issue, it sounds as though the move has been relatively smooth. I had worries that it would be a nightmare - sounds like it's all be relatively fine. Kudos to the staff at BA and Gatwick who've been working on this...

First Class Opportunity
With the move to the South Terminal have BA missed a trick to up its First Class game. With far fewer F seats relative to LHR could an escort service be introduced (stop s......ing) fro check-in to lounge to aircraft?

Is there now conformance at Gatwick South? The Gatwick page on the BA website referenced above says:
"You must meet the following times, or you will not be allowed to travel:
"You must meet the following times, or you will not be allowed to travel:
- Pass through security at least 35 minutes before your flight departs."

In reality it could only be considered as 'missed a trick' from the perspective that BA actually harbours any desire to 'up its First Class game'. Not too much evidence of that AFAIK (but very happy to be corrected, as always). If people continue to hand over their money, there is no incentive for BA to make any major changes.
Can you think of any recent example where BA has shown itself to be be truly innovative, whether product or service-wise, versus competitors.....? The best we can hope for is restoration or improvement of some of the benefits / facilities that have been either removed or downgraded over time.
