2017 POUG rate tracker

Please add your own successful results to the follow list including the month/year when the POUG was offered to you. Please delete any figures from 2017 or earlier if you have a 2018 price. Previous data lives on via post 2.

UPDATED TO: Post #418

POUGs are offered via BA.com and the App Manage My Booking via a distinctive banner (example from MMB below). You cannot get a POUG by telephoning, however the service centres can complete a POUG which falls over mid transaction. They are offered on cash and Avios redemptions but typically not on complex routings, BA Holidays or travel agency bookings until OLCI stage. POUGs on Avios redemptions won't get you additional TPs/Avios, but they will on revenue tickets.

Short haul routes from LON to/from Europe
A price in pounds indicates a ticket issued from London, other currencies indicate prices for tickets issued overseas (e.g. singles or returns originating from CDG priced in Euros). Multiple prices indicate a range of fares are on offer. Note that LCY prices currently seem to be on a different basis to LGW and LHR (cheaper, in other words).

Interesting data point. If you bought the ticket exDXB, and get offered DXB-LHR WTP-CW the fee is AED2400 that is offered online (looking at one of the bookings we have through work), which at today's exchange rate is around £530.

I've been asked to find out, or perhaps better still, accumulate some experiences of people using POUG but crediting to frequent flyer programmes other than BAEC. I recall posts that say that POUGs (and AUPs) credit at the higher rate to AA, but how about the other schemes such as Cathay, Air Berlin, Qantas and so on?

Hi corporate-wage-slave. Welcome to Flyertalk! As your question concerns frequent flyer programmes other than BAEC, one of the mods will be along shortly to move your post into the appropriate Oneworld forum. Someone there should be able to help. Thanks for stopping by!

A friend of mine says he was offered a POUG in MMB close to his departure to FAO. He had car hire as part of that package. I've never been offered that before. Anyone else offered it ??

LHR-PHX, 04/01/17, WTP->CW offered at $1080

(The offer was quoted in USD as it was the return leg of a US-originated ticket.)

I've never seen this. Most of my BA bookings are BA Holidays bookings, and my understanding is that BA almost treats them as a separate entity and the booking "belongs" to BA Holidays until airport check-in opens, meaning that BA can't upsell anything. I may be wrong, though.
