2016 POUG rate tracker

Please add your own successful results to the follow list including the month/year when the POUG was offered to you.

UPDATED TO: Post #259

POUGs are offered via BA.com and the App Manage My Booking via a distinctive banner (example from MMB below). You cannot get a POUG by telephoning, however the service centres can complete a POUG which falls over mid transaction. They are offered on cash and Avios redemptions but typically not on complex routings, BA Holidays or travel agency bookings until OLCI stage. POUGs on Avios redemptions won't get you additional TPs/Avios, but they will on revenue tickets.

Short haul routes from LON to/from Europe
A price in pounds indicates a ticket issued from London, other currencies indicate prices for tickets issued overseas (e.g. singles or returns originating from CDG priced in Euros). Multiple prices indicate a range of fares are on offer. Note that LCY prices currently seem to be on a different basis to LGW and LHR (cheaper, in other words).

I don't believe you can UuA from a POUG, but you can AUP. But give them a call just in case something has changed. Check that there is dummy Avios availability first, so make a dummy booking as if making a new redemption from scratch. If you can get a redemption then you can get a UuA, so long as the POUG isn't in the way. Just seeing F in ExpertFlyer is not the same thing as seeing in BA.com on a dummy booking.

Dummy booking shows 3 left in First for that flight... So I guess I'd better get on the phone and see where that gets me. Thanks!

Yes.

It's usually around 750 GBP, I think. Plus it's a long flight.

Very decent I'd say. A bit less than I think you'll see in the AUP thread for the same route, and I use those as my guide price.

Thought £79 on my Lhr-mad flight tomorrow was ok and see already been posted. Two weeks ago in IB, they offered for 60€ at check in, took it and was very surprised at how good it was (tho no extra tp), but I'm not paying £79 for afternoon tea tomorrow

Been logging into MMB regularly in the hope of an upgrade, and have been offered (and have accepted) £120 to upgrade from WT to WT+ on the BA292 IAD->LHR on 2nd April 2016.

I think the lowest I've seen it previously was £128, and that was on the westbound leg so I'm pretty happy with that.

LHR to MIA from WT to WTP flying on the A380 seen today at £198 one way nine days prior to travel. Shame that all of the seats on A380 are over the wing so not much chance of a view outside...

I think that's excellent value: 60 euro. Was that offered in MAD or LHR? On a leisure trip I could drink the equivalent - chuck in the meal and all the other fringe benefits and that's an absolute bargain.

That makes a mockery of £119 for LHR-DUB Y-CE a 1 hour flight approx Teir points aside.

Anyone had any joy on a POUG LHR-MAD on the Saturday flight on the 767?

Flights fairly empty but not offering it, it's offering it on the flight home though which is of no use......

Yes I agree. I think it's poor too. Considering the excuse for catering I got once. I know it's not all about that, but it was still not great.
