Lots of general information about Jersey in post 1, and more details on the plan for the day

Plan for the day.
Date/TimeSaturday 26 July, 1200 - 1830 ... there's another booking just in from 1900, so those still on-site will have to continue downstairs, or elsewhere. Radisson?
  • The Bar, St Helier [on the Waterfront by Cineworld, and near the Radisson Bleu].
  • The Bar's website is here with their Menu etc.

Food and Drink
  • We will have the Upstairs Bar and Terrace
  • The kitchen will (by special request) be in operation for us from 1200-1800: so basically eat when you wish. I'm conscious that everyone's different arrival times and overall schedules makes a single sitting rather impractical.
  • PLEASE don't all try to order at the same time, or the kitchen will get swamped!!
  • Yes, they take Amex

For those travelling tomorrow on the 2772 Party Plane:

Look for these signs: (if the bottles of bubbles, bacon butties and joviality don't give it away!)

(although Chimpanzees talking about planes may be more appropriate...)

See you there ^^

Yes, outside, reasonable sized group of us, under an umbrella. Sofas, not chairs.

haasha asked: what will the weather be like for the DO?

I'll step up to the podium and take responsibility for getting this wrong but...

I think the high will be 22 C, we'll have fairly light winds up to mid day and then slightly stronger gusts until late evening.

There is a weak upper front that will break apart as it moves over the Jersey Island tomorrow but may bring some increasing cloud from mid day.

Overnight I see a cold front passage but besides introducing a slightly cooler air mass it won't bring much precipitation. There will be more Cumulus present on Sunday.

The high pressure breaks over Jersey later on Sunday and brings precip with systems as they move across on Monday.

So, in a nutshell, good on Sat. but not as hot and a bit more cloud in the afternoon.

We got let off eventually at 2355. Anyway, am waiting for the coach now and should get to LGW at 0115. I may not be in the lounge by 1000 tomorrow as originally planned!

Ouch, well done for making it at all. At least the coach journey will be pretty swift.

On way home having decided that I better start this mission HBO after a nights sleep in my own bed (though had 2 alarms set for 6.30am and 7am to wake up and make it home in the morning given I assume "packing" HBO will be a shorter task than "packing" normal).

Quite fun to think of all the various journeys that are all leading us to The Bar tomorrow afternoon.

Safe travels everyone. See you in GF in the morning.

Thanks, yep just set off so shouldn't take long. Apparently it was a lack of TRMs. There were an unusually large number of flights coming in late this evening but a lack of TRMs to do the airbridges. According to the flight crew we were not the only ones with a long wait. I can accept the weather delays, but the wait for an airbridge was ridiculous. I think BA has not done well in staff management this evening. I shall be submitting my complaint in due course. Hopefully will get some haribos out of it.

Looking forward to tomorrow

Haha, I similarly have a jersey pound note I am trying to get rid of. Have brought it with me for this weekend.
