Tesco and Avios
Tesco, the major UK supermarket chain, allows you to convert Tesco Clubcard (CC) points to Avios. The standard earning rate is 1 CC point per 1 spent in store. They convert to Avios in the ratio of 1 CC point to 2.4 Avios or 2.5 Virgin miles. Every quarter, your points are converted to coupons and mailed to you - they can then be converted via the CC website to Avios or Virgin miles. Typically, it takes 1-2 working days for a conversion to BA Avios to complete.
The key to rapidly earning large amounts of Avios is the regular bonus point offers where large amounts of points can be earned. The latest are listed below and discussed within this thread.
The last period for collecting Clubcard points finished on 16 October 2014.
The last day for collecting points in the current quarter is 21 January 2015.
Topcashback (TCB)

I can't see it being finance related. The software (VBulletin) is free and hosting costs less than a couple of pints, and they have a yearly income of almost $850.

The owner has been conspicuous by their absence for well over a year. Maybe apathy set in ? Wonder where FT and bloggers will get their Tesco info from now, it was always on PTS a couple of days before magically appearing everywhere else, as people on there actually shop in Tesco.

I've never used the site so doesn't bother me one way or another. I can't be arsed with half the offers Tesco come up with anyway

I thought this would be more complicated that it turned to be. Took the sleeves off the shelf, took them to the counter, she scanned them, I paid my 10, I checked my receipt and voila, 1,000 points added.
Thanks gentlemen.

Spent the last hour searching but cant find the answer!
I purchased 500 worth of 3v vouchers yesterday at Tesco Dalkeith. I was charged 500 and got the points added just fine.
When I got home I found that only 14 out of the 20 cards were activated and I only had 14 activation slips.
Whats Tesco's likely response when I take them back and ask for replacements.
Can they check their systems for the non activation or am I likely to get a fraud suggestion?
Is there something I need to say or do to assist me?
thanks

People delude themselves if they think this is "normal" shopping behaviour. Who is all honesty would want a copy of every game on every platform
However, what constitutes a "fair" uptake of the offer is clearly open to interpretation and is not written in black and white from what I can see.
I can certainly understand why some Tesco staff seen suspicious when a customer tries to pre-order so many games- it is not "normal" but then again, neither is it breaking the "rules".
If I were in the country I am sure I would be partaking of this Avios opportunity. But at the same time appreciate I am not entirely playing fair pre-ordering games I have no intention of buying in full
We need to remember that aggressively searching for Avios collecting opportunities is a minority sport! Most people out there have never heard of Avios and the lengths some of us go to collect them may appear a little odd to them perhaps?

At least you're not me who spends <60 days in the UK but maximises opportunities to earn Avios whenever I am there

Tesco will tell you to contact 3V. 3V will tell you to contact Tesco.
Both will tell you to contact your credit card company.
Your credit card company will tell you to contact 3V and Tesco.
That's the very very short version - expect it to take hours to resolve.

Expect the CS at the store to not have a clue!
It happened to me, they made me speak to my credit card company and then get them to confirm to them that the transaction when through - for some reason they thought i would not be charged even thought my receipt stated it was charged.
I tried to show them that some of the cards were not activated by getting them to try and put it through the till again.
In the end they gave me cash rather than the 3v, so worked out well but it took a few days for them to consult with head office- the dept concerned was shut on weekends
