An “official POUG” is defined (for the purposes of this wiki) as the rate that appears in red on the MMB/BA app. It is NOT the rate offered at the airport (please see http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/briti...ng-thread.html), or the rate offered when you click on the “Upgrade my class of travel with money” link from within MMB, or the “Upgrade to the next available cabin” blue/grey banner in the app.
  • All POUGs earn full TPs and Avios for the upgraded cabin, subject to the original booking being paid for with cash.
  • POUGs *ARE* offered on Hand-Baggage Only fares, if available
  • POUGs only become available after 48 hours of making your booking, until any time up to, and including OLCI. After being checked in you will not be offered a POUG.
  • POUGs do not seem to become available for travel agent bookings, until 2-3 days before departure (YMMV)
  • POUGs cannot be requested from Service Centres, except that occasionally BA.com will not proceed with a POUG online and display a message inviting you to call the Service Centre to complete the transaction.
  • After a POUG has been purchased, the ticket become non changeable and non refundable, apart from government taxes.

Please add to this list as required, and include the month/year when the POUG is offered to you.

Thanks.

It is a work booking in J, so I am interested to see if there are any upgrade offers to F. I suspect that the booking is a little too complicated for POUG, even before using a TA rather than directly with BA.

Flew this last year in aug 2012. 2 adults 2 kids , we had managed to find some fairly cheap WTP seats, and then a POUG offer came up £399 to CW , whicj we took!! They also offered us this offer on the return journey to LHR. All in all think i paid around £7k for 4 CW returns to SIN

Phoned up BA just now to upgrade myself from WT to WT+ on the LHR-LAX outbound and it cost £213. Says £223 online so not bad.
THe inbound costs £113 online but seems to be £147 on the phone. Still contemplating that but at present, I've a window seat back in the mini cabin which may or may not turn out to be a decent seat choice.

WT+ on the outbound has filled a lot since yesterday when I checked the seatmap. Most of the left hand side is now full or has a few people grabbing the window seats.
They did stick me in a middle centre seat but I've moved myself to the right hand side in a window seat.

At least I'll hit my required 1500TP after my flight into SJU

No further MFU opportunites but then again, in the last 2 years, I haven't had one flight where WT+ to CW was possible with Avios.

Not bad for BA, but you can often buy J seats on QR or EY for that price LHR-SIN. Just something to keep in mind, particularly with QR joining OW next month.

Just booked for LHR-HEL-LHR for end of October. I booked ET hoping to get offer to upgrade but going into Manage My Booking they are only offering the return back to LHR at £89 and outbound at £181. Is it possible a better offer for the outbound will appear later? The wording seems misleading, I'm concerned that if I select "I do not wish to upgrade this flight" for the outbound, it won't give me the better offer at a later date as I've told the system I don't want to upgrade!

I'm wanting the 160 TP's so was kind of prepared to book CE straight off, just hoped I could save a few quid!

I don't think that the system would be so sophisticated that it would not offer an upgrade later on again.

Though I have never tried to upgrade only one way, or any way for that matter

Yeah you are probably right!

I've now upgraded it via the iPhone app as looks at each flight individually. Just hope to get an outbound offer now.

Where do you ask for an in airport upgrade @ T5? At the check in desk or in the lounge?

Flying to LAS (WT) open jaw (return from SFO), so can't upgrade online and over the phone is damn expensive.

I imagine the chances of getting a paid upgrade to LAS are slim, being a popular route. But might as well try...

Ask at checkin, and there is also a customer service desk after security near A10.

Thanks mate. WT+ is pretty full so I guess it's unlikely.

Is it true you can wave the £100 change fee when phoning up because its not available online?

Appreciate the orderliness of the chart at the top.

Can we get SIN-SYD added - Please.

Happy wandering

??

The change fee will be payable regardless on a paid ticket.

You may be confusing this with the fact you can get them to waive telephone fees for things which cannot be done online.

Good idea Fred - added a non-LON routes section, though you're of course welcome to edit the Wiki yourself... Do you happen to know any of the POUG rates on this sector?

Anyone know any other non-LON routes?

Not sure how to edit the wiki

Last week 2 days before OLCI opened up Shanghai (PVG) to London (LHR) they had an upgrade offer of £521 from WT+ to CW.

Incidentally when I checked in at the airport they were offereing £200 cash to downgrade to WT+ - bit of a joke really.
