I was offered LHR-ORY and CDFG-LHR upgrades at £65 each way. This was at T-24, OLCI on a TA booking. Snapped them up for lounges both ends (being now a lowly blue), a bit of mediocre nosebag and some bubbly, seeing as I won't be driving after either leg. And of course for the TPs - 500 extra miles is not much of an incentive.

Yes, had LHR - AMS Y to J offered for £65 yesterday. It was a tough decision but I don't think I'll need the TPs so declined.

LHR-MIA return. Out WT and in WTP.

one week before departure, MMB offering £780 one way WT to WTP, return sector £1100 WTP to CW.

Log in to mobile device, five minutes later back to PC. MMB offering down to £110 one way WT to WTP. Grab it. But the return leg now showing £2300 from WTP to CW. Total £4300 for both leg to be in CW.

Amigo is offered out £250 WTP to CW same flight same day. Another Amigo is offered £125 WT to WTP for departure one week later.

The flight stats showing Y9 B9 ... L2 O0 G4 / W4 E4 T4 / C9 D9 J8 I9 R4 and F7. Assuming CW not very full but Y load at 80% and WTP full or overbooked.

Interesting to see offering drop from £780 to £110 in three minutes window when i was consistantly check my booking in MMB.

How close to your flight date were you offered £65? I'm travelling LHR - AMS in July, which I booked last December, and MMB is still showing £100 for the Y to J upgrade.

It was there from the time of booking to the day of travel - several months. CE wasn't busy on the flight so maybe they were desparate for upgrades?

Off to MUC tonight. ticket booked by TA and upgrade offered via MMB at T-24.

Price is £81.25 which is great as it's previously been £125 which I have always declined.

As I now get 40 TP instead of 10 it's a good deal for me so accepted. Not sure if this is a temporary reduction in Pro-active upgrade costs (ie an Easter Sale) or permanent.

As per before, BA should offer price comensurate with Status as a gold/silver card member will get far less value (on the ground) than a Blue or non-status member. £125 for non status and £81.25 for Gold Silver would seem reasonable to me.

The upgrade cost in MMB for my LHR - AMS flight has been £100 since I booked. Does the amount usually stay the same until the flight or can it sometimes reduce before the flight. I'd like to upgrade but think it's probably not worth it at £100 each for such a short flight. If the cost does reduce before the flight we'll probably take the upgrade, if only for the lounge access.
Do they sometimes reduce the price at T-24 when we do OLCI?

Prices can go down, but also bear in mind that they can go up! £100 is usually the cheapest upgrade for LHR (usually more at the airport), £60 is the cheapest for LGW online (£65 at the airport).

I've booked a multi-city trip that flies into Milan and out of Venice (booked through the BA shareholder discount site)

When I was booking either leg through the discount site as a standard return tickets, the option to upgrade before purchasing was offered, but when booking this open jaw no upgrade was offered.

Now I've made the purchase, in MMB all upgrade options are greyed out. Is this because it's multi-city? Is there no chance of being offered an upgrade, or might this appear at T-24?

GVA Apr 25, 2011 3:01 pm

65GBP for LHR-GVA on a Sunday evening. Original fare class is V.
130 CHF for GVA-LHR Friday early evening. Original fare class is O.

Pity the prices aren't swapped around.

Had an open jaw LHR-ZRH and GVA-LCY in December with similar lack of luck with MMB offering. Either that, or simple not offering MMB upgrades with BA shareholder bookings?

Probably the best value upgrade offer I've ever heard off. You'd have to be daft (or absolutely skint) not to jump at that.

Shortly after I wrote that everything increased by £10, including offering the upgrade for £75 during OLCI.

I started a thread elsewhere, but for neatness....

In MMB - £200 one way, GRU-LHR. WT to WT+, end of May, mid week flight.

d'Yquem May 3, 2011 11:12 am

€750 euro for one-way ET-CE BCN-LHR. Offered at ticketing desk.

Politely declined...

d'Yquem May 5, 2011 2:42 pm

MMB offered LHR-OTP u/g for £150. Also OTP-LHR u/g for £150.

£65 et→ce lhr→zrh 27.04.2011

Genius1 May 7, 2011 7:21 am

These £65/£70 POUs on LHR routes are very intriguing - the cheapest I've seen before is £100.

X_Class May 7, 2011 9:57 am

SYD - BKK a few weeks ago I was offered J to F for $AU 800

SEW247 May 7, 2011 1:41 pm

LHR to BKK WT+ to CW £329 in MMB for silver card holder

UKOK May 7, 2011 2:52 pm

In MMB - EWR to LHR $159. WT > WT+

FlightNurse May 7, 2011 7:10 pm

That seems to be the price for flight out of the US, My partner and I were offered $250 on our PHX-LHR from WT - WT+ which was $25/hr.

Intriguing and useful - my mid-year tier-point anxiety is lessening slightly and the plan to retain silver is taking shape!

mccorry May 9, 2011 4:36 am

WT --> WT+ £179 LHR/SFO today. Not offered at MMB or OLCI, but when asking about availability at check-in desk.

That's a very good price considering that MFU availability on that route is usually very limited.

A colleague is flying to EZE tomorrow and has just been offered WT -> WTP for £150 at OLCI. For such a long flight she jumped at the offer.

FlightNurse May 9, 2011 5:42 am

Ouch over $300 USD, it appears that when you go from US-LHR the upgrade cost is about $250 from Wt-->WT+

£60 ($100) of the UK-->US upgrade cost represents the additional APD which goes straight into Her Majesty's coffers!

Camflyer May 12, 2011 4:46 am

MMB is currently showing

LHR-MAD £125 ET-> CE - tempting for the extra TP
MAD-LHR £270 ET-> CE - not tempting

LHR-BOS £1900 WTP -> CW each way - no chance!

Dropped to £259 2 days before departure, but it was suddenly possible to MFU so I did that instead.
Going back the offer was £399, I didn't bother since it was a day flight.

At PVG a week ago, Y-W, W-J and J-F were all available at the checkin desk for the 168.

J-F was 11,000 CNY (approx £1k). I declined, but got upgraded at the gate anyway ^.

ORD-LHR, WT+ to Club for the usual $400. Was on the sleeper service which I like but the food in lounge was really ghastly...

BA or bust May 18, 2011 4:55 pm

MMB is currently showing

LHR-PSA £147 ET-> CE
PSA-LHR £152 ET-> CE

Add them up and they total £299, but there is an offer to buy both for £238. Not convinced yet... I would like to see the offer of £125 each way (which appeared once for a few days - but only on one sector) with a discount to buy both dropping it to say £200.
