Long Haul Fleet [how will it change]
Time appears to be marching on for the long haul fleet -so what will be look like in 15 years time - 50 A380's?? - I just dont see how a 787 or an A350 can replace 744's without cutting massively the number of passengers being carried and the lose of revenue and profit - BA is already carrying less passengers today than 10 years ago
And for the 744 staying as some are young will they get a refit?

Based on current offerings from the manufacturers, to remain competitive they will probably need to fly a fleet of A380, A350 (being phased in to replace the 777 fleet), 777 (being phased out), and 787.
However, by then I am sure that Boeing will be offering a new generation 777, so the fleet may well be A380, a mix of 777NG and 777 "classic", and 787.

If BA can't turn a huge profit on the significant number of monopoly routes it dominates out of the UK then quite frankly the business deserves to die.

I doubt it will be the 777 as the design will be 35 years old by then - and a good number of BA's frames will be between 25 and 30 years old by 2025. The A350 seems to be winning key customers as both a 747 and 777 replacement - UA ordered some quite recently for both these roles. I also think BA will finish up with about 30 A380's too.
Alot of pax growth depends on how much aviation starts to be seriously blamed for environmental problems - the politicians will try and ratchet up taxes if they can do this. This may well curb some growth in the pax numbers that was projected a few years ago, but may increase the number of VLA's required as pax capacity per flight / slot would become more inportant than daily frequency.

As I'm not having 2 children, I'll make 4,400 flights thank you very much.

The only reason i want to fly on a 777 is either when the 300ERs arrive, and hence can be further away from the engines, or in new F.

It will be sad to see the B747s go, they have served BA (and its predecesors) well although there start in BOAC was marred in slight controversy.
They look 10x better than the WhaleJet (A380).
I also think its a good time to get new livery with the B787s and A380s. Try and project a new image.
