The latest version (2010) of the First cabin (termed "Prime" internally by British Airways, or "New First") is available on all 4-class 777s and all 747s.

An newer evolution (2013) of the First seat (Prime+) is found on all A380s, and a newer version still (2015) is available on all 787-9s.

The older version of the First cabin (termed "Classic" internally by British Airways, or "Old First") has now been withdrawn.

747 information updated to 31 March 2016. Last change: withdrawal of G-BNLF, the last OF aircraft

On those flights sporadically seeing NF (such as 269, where I'll be in about three weeks), is there any pattern as to days of the week the flights fly with NF vs. OF based on where they need the different aircraft at different times?

You can buy or try for 5 days the expertflyer and see all the details.

Hi-Js have 70J seats but are coming with two configurations,

one with 185Y seats 14F/70J/30W/185Y (currently 10 out of 18 have NF)

and a second one with 177Y seats 14F/70J/30W/177Y (8 out 8 have NF)

Then we have the Lo-Js with 52J seats , 14F/52J/36W/235Y (4 out of 23 have NF)

No there doesn't seem to be. Pot luck I think.

Excellent! Thank you very much for the link. Both flights are currently operated by Lo-J. Hopefully this shouldn't matter anymore by the time of my flights (December). BTW: What happens to those 8 WT seats??

I think there are actually 6 of these fitted out (G-BNLV, G-CIVD, G-CIVE, G-CIVK, G-CIVN and G-CIVT). G-BNLU is also thought to be mid-J and is currently at CWL awaiting maintenance where one would expect it to be converted to NF, as is G-CIVP - which has been there for weeks now.

So hopefully the odds on a mid-J route (ie: CPT, MIA, DXB, MEX, IAH, PHX, YVR, DFW, LAS) should hop up a bit soon.

I think the 8 seats you refer to are rows 54 and 55 which are 2 X rows of WT in the centre section which are on some of the High-J's.

I can't say,

G-BNLV,G-CIVE,G-CIVK,G-CIVN have NF.

The other two G-CIVT and G-CIVD are no listed at thebasource

Do you have any info about the rest of the Hi-Js (any of those at Cardiff now?)? I am flying to DXB by the end of June and currently I am on one of the Hi-Js with the 185Y.

Any idea on how accurate the expedia seat maps are as a gauge of whether a plane is 177Y/185Y? Flying to LAX in a couple of weeks and on that day the 279 and 269 are showing as 177Y, but 283 is showing as 185.
I'm guessing they're all subject to change anyway...

Just booked on BA196 IAH-LHR which according to BA Source has been served by a 744 certainly since the start of April but according to the agent (had to call as openjaw MFU) and MMB it's going to be a 777 by June 27th.

Don't know if it's an impact on NF roll-out or just a schedule change but thought I'd mention it.

Those configurations differ only by the number of Y seats (185 vs 177)? What explains the difference?

Looking at an Expert Flyer seat map, is the easiest way to tell Hi-J by checking if the cabin behind F is WT+ or J?

If the aircraft is Lo-J then the WT+ will be between First and CW .
If it is Hi-J, then everything is normal, F then CW, the WT+ and on the back WT
