The C pier isn't fully finished. Workmanship in places isn't great to be honest.
Can't see into where the Emirates lounge is being built.

Wrong forum... But the EK lounge will be in Pier C. There are already signs to it (I believe it's downstairs with direct access to the A380).

EK will be using the 1903 lounge in the meatime. I've only used that on the morning QR flight, but it's been fine.

Interesting. Sat on BA1366 about to depart Heathrow and cabin crew just used the PA to explain the arrivals process at Manchester and called it a bit frustrating

Wouldnt it be refreshing if, instead of the email spam they send out, marketing could write to those of us that fly to MAN regularly and tell us what the medium term plan was, when, if it does involve the D Gates, it is going to change and what efforts theyve made with Manchester to minimise the inconvenience for arrivals in the meantime. Its just bizarre when passengers are telling the crew what the arrangements are and when there is so much rumour but no clarification.

If the we use the time it has taken MAN to get the moving walkways up and running again in the Skylink corridors linking the terminals with one another and the train station we can expect the opening of the new domestic arrivals to be c2030.

Sounds a little optimistic to me... I'd expect them to have opened at least two supermarkets and other retail atractions to keep the tills ringing before they get round to that.

The idea in the UK of an integrated transport infrastructure with seamless arrivals to airports and onward journeys is a pipe dream. Airports are more interested in departures where the spend is, targeting leisure travellers who want to buy stuff, rather than people who actually use them for work and travel to and from work and are unlikely to need to purchase anything. Its not just MAN. At least BA passengers at LHR get a decent experience....the "welcome" at T4 is depressing.

the only other way would be if BA change to use the biometric on arrival process.
Aer Ligus are back to doing busing arrivals with the A320 flights due issues with Biometric reliability and there has also been several border breaches (not sure how) that have invoked the ire of Boarder force.

First time flying BA through T2 as a passenger.

Went to the CE BA desk around 07:10 for my 09:40 flight and one person at the counter, so a 30sec wait. A lot more in the other queue.
No issues.

Went to oversize baggage in zone G to drop my strappy backpack off and about 100 people in the queue, so throught "screw that" and walked down to zone A/B where i had a 2min wait for one person.

Not sure if BA have to use the photo gates even though i had fast track, but a couple of minutes to get through them and into an empty tray area that took a coulle of minutes.

Naturally, Samdex required for my shoes, and my bag with a tablet, headphones and cables got pulled for secondary.
Had to a wait another couple of minutes to get my tablet swabbed (been done quite a few times since i got it), but that didnt test positive for anything that would get me into an episode of Australia Border Force

No mention of lounges on my BPs, but went to the Escape lounge.
Not been to the lounge bit before, but pretty full. Mostly the 40s+ crowd.
Food options your normal sausages, bacon etc. Much like a hotel breakfast.

Honestly, not too bad overall. Might be a Monday with Jet2 pax dropping off skis, backpacks etc.

Easyjet / Hayes holidays using the low A bank desks along with CX and AY.

Added: not exactly the best boarding ever. Facial Scanner on one side not working, snappy and slooooow Menzies staff, and the usual pile forward with the airport doing a final call.
So far, at least 30 mins to board the flight, and problably wont be taking off for half an hour.

(on stand around 08:50, back doors opened and first bus passsenger around 08:58; group 0 called at 09:08; couple of people got on at 09:42 - probably not the last ones- well, potentially missing 2 from name calls)
Last passenger 09:50, so 42 mins to board

Not sure why CE need menu cards for a 35min flight.

At least i got an empty seat next to me.

Got Ethopian parked with FR at T3 today:

Surely there must be some element of motivation in airports having a pleasant arrivals process.

Case in point - MAN airport is closer to me than LPL however if a route I want is available at both airports with suitable timings I will lean towards LPL due to the overall easier experience from car parking to check in to security to arriving and back in my car on the return journey.

I'll put up with Manchester if this alleged OneWorld lounge materialises.

The circus rolls on this morning. Landed on BA1360 at 9am. Still on the bus now at 9:37 waiting to be let out of jail to enter the corridor.

Stand guidance also non-functional this morning on A9 so required a marshall to attend.

Waiting on the buses for ages due to a Dublin arrival in front of us and having to wait for border force to clear the area.

Shambolic departure last night for the BA1375. Boarding all complete ahead of schedule and seemingly ready to go.

Next minute the pilot announces over the tannoy that there has been a problem with the biometrics and so 30 passengers had to grab all their bags and be marched back up to the gate to have their photo taken again before being marched back down to the aircraft. Eventually left an hour late with numerous angry passengers who were going to miss connections. It seems the ground staff were getting quite a bit of grief when it was all a result of MAG's complete inability to run an airport or prepare proper infrastructure.

Yes this is the new BA arrivals plan now Im afraid whilst CTA has been closed, according to ground staff I chatted to when I had the same issue on my recent flight. Its a complete lottery as to when you arrive/land, but if another flight arrives just before you, then unlucky youll be sat on the bus 45+ mins whilst they wait for the previous flight to be totally cleared and emptied and security searched from the domestic arrivals area with all their baggage, before they allow your flight to even be let into the doors of the terminal.

Premium indeed, hope nobody is in a hurry or values their time
