The idea in the UK of an integrated transport infrastructure with seamless arrivals to airports and onward journeys is a pipe dream. Airports are more interested in departures where the spend is, targeting leisure travellers who want to buy stuff, rather than people who actually use them for work and travel to and from work and are unlikely to need to purchase anything. It's not just MAN. At least BA passengers at LHR get a decent experience....the "welcome" at T4 is depressing.
Surely there must be some element of motivation in airports having a pleasant arrivals process.
Case in point - MAN airport is closer to me than LPL however if a route I want is available at both airports with suitable timings I will lean towards LPL due to the overall easier experience from car parking to check in to security to arriving and back in my car on the return journey.
