BA Chase card with non-US address.

Hi everyone

I just got approved for the BA Chase card as I wanted to get some Avios for an upcoming trip and recently fell under 5/24. However, I did not notice that the t&cs say "You must have a U.S. address listed on your British Airways Executive Club profile to earn Avios points in the British Airways card rewards program."

Chase has my U.S. address, but I have a foreign (Mexico) address on my Executive Club profile. Does anyone have experience with this? Do I really need to update my address to a U.S. one on BA? The reason I don't just do that is that I'd fall out of our household account and my family often uses that to pool our points. Worst case, I guess I can "move" all of the hh members to my U.S. address and get the bonus, etc, but what would you recommend?

I was in this position a few years ago (American based in the Middle East, with my Middle Eastern address on my BA account). I did not earn any Avios with spend on this credit card during that period, and I didn't realize this until after I read the T&Cs. After I switched my account address to one in the U.S., I started earning Avios.

Ohh, glad I caught it early then, thanks for answering. Were you able to get the sign-up bonus?

I have the Chase BA card. Applied and got it last year. U.K. citizen, but have an O1 visa, SSN etc.

I had no idea about this part of the T&Cs and my BA Exec club has always been to my U.K. address. Never changed it and have no plans too.

Had no issue getting the bonus and still get monthly avios.

Wow. Perhaps things have changed recently? My experience dates back to 2012 when I first received the card. I used my U.S. address but still had my BAEC set to use my UK address. At that time the Avios still accrued on the Chase card - including the sign up bonus - but were not transferred to my BA account until I changed my BAEC address to the U.S.

Perhaps this is the one upside of BAs awfully antiquated IT system!

Don't know whether you can make this work in your favour, but HHA members no longer need to 'reside at the same address' - see Nov 21 changes at the top of this page: https://www.britishairways.com/en-gb...and-conditions
