On my return from CPT on 20/12, BA58, CW was lightly loaded, on the UD there were 2-empty seats, and 3 children and the LD was only about 50% full. They ran out of the SA Shiraz after the first drinls service, apparently only 1-bottle was loaded, and during the meal service they ran out of the other red. Mrs E2S wanted some of the pink champagne, which eventually came 3+ hours into the flight and was warm.
Fortunately my next next flight is with QR

My one and only SQ Suites flight there were 3 of us and they ran out of 1st choice mains - so not just BA. Mind you they certainly didn't make me choose between cheese OR chocolate, that's a line that can't be crossed

My worst record for unavailability of first choices are BA short haul flights to/from LCY. I have been refused my first choice when sat in row 2 after only one passenger chose her main on CE-light flights!!!

Yes the smaller the number of Pax; the more likely they are to run out of meal choices; margins are simple too tight to take enough of everything and none of us would want to see prices increase.

Yes but the problems are just the same on full flights with large CE. In a nutshell, Cityflier's conceptions of catering loads is particularly minimalist.

On our flight it was a tropical mousse-like thing which I think gave cheese the advantage.

Just to repeat a point that you are wishing to ignore - whether or not LH has cut anything was not the point I was making. Sharing meals across cabins was.

I shared something that I read over in the M&M forum. There is a dedicated thread over there http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/lufth...-biz-food.html. They have a very nice chart comparing meals across cabins. I posted that link before, but it seems that what people, who actually fly LH and can compare the menus, have to say does not impress you. You've already made up your mind. Rather than scream at me here, please go over there and try to prove to those guys that they are wrong. I seem to be an easy target here, while I do not see you defending LH in the M&M forum or accusing those guys of making things up.

In the last 2 rotations from the US-Germany, J had one main course out of 3 that was the same as F. LH F has 4 main courses, plus they cater a selection of 3 appetizers for everyone - yes, that's right everyone in F can have all 3 appetizers, plus there is caviar, soup, salad, sorbet, cheese and desert courses in F.
On my most recent LH F flight FRA-EWR in Jan they came around with seconds of caviar and soup - so there is no apparent shortage of food in LH F.

Which I never said there was. Please re-read my original post. All I wrote was that sharing meals across cabins, even one or two choices (which is what LH seems to be doing on departures from the USA if one is to believe what people over in the M&M forum are saying, which I am happy to accept that it does not, but prove that point to them, not to me) is one way to ensure first choice as clearly first class passengers will be prioritized. So, my post was about ensuring first choice of meals rather than which airline cut what.
I am sorry I offended the airline that you clearly feel so deeply for. I did not realize that my reference to the thread over in the M&M forum would set off such a strong reaction from you. You do not have to prove anything to me. I am happy to accept that LH is perfect. I will politely withdraw from the conversation as you clearly do not want to hear me and this thread turned into what LH has or has not done. Defend LH in the other thread - that would seem more appropriate than ganging up on me here.
Again, sorry I ever mentioned Lufthansa's name.
