Certainy. You don't think that 200/hour flight entitles you to bottled water!

My point was that the water should be procured from a tap in a public toilet, and not from the hallowed lounge sources.

Seriously, if I pay 3 grand for a flight and I am concerned I will be dehydrated by lack of water on board, I will take as much bottled water as I need (glass bottle is the issue) from the lounge. I have found BA getting better at supplying botttles on board anyway lately so no need.

But, you can take duty free alcohol onboard which comes in glass bottles, what's the difference?

Good point. No difference, maybe I will bring a bottle of sparkiling water and a bottle of JW Blue to give it some taste next time.

Sorry just be clarify I was being sarcastic (nasty habit that's got me in trouble before) and I fully agree with you

I'm currently feeling dehydrated after a sprint to the gate (gate 36 is a LONG way) and a delayed take off as they can't find a bag they need to offload. Should have bought a bottle from the lounge.

So they've let me in without even scanning my boarding pass and I was back out in less than one minute with a can of coke and 2 packets of crisps .
I gather an error will flash up on the lounge dragon's screen when they scan a boarding pass belonging to someone whose flight is boarding.

Alternatively you could just leave the lounge in good time to get to the gate.

Taking one small bottle is fair game but 3 or 4 is way too much.

She's a thirsty girl if she needs that many on such a short flight.

Shovel as much as you can into your bags in the lounge. I do. Cake, biscuits, those dinky fizz cans, water.......whatever. However, avoid soup as it leak all over the place.

I didn't say take without asking. Of course she would ask.
I think we're going in circles here. She won't ask on board because, as you said earlier, "she's the type who doesn't like to ask" but if she wants to take it from the lounge "of course she would ask".

And all for a 2.5 hour flight. Just ask on board, they'll give her as much as she wants.

How about drinking the 3 or 4 bottles in the lounge first?

The risk of dehydration on a short flight thereafter would be negligible; especially if she were to avail herself of the water offered to all on the flight.

No need for any special asking anywhere.

A bit of misunderstanding here - my fault I think.
I meant she doesn't like to ask on board, as in she prefers to just sit down close eyes and only open then when she wants to take a drink - she doesn't want to have to ask for a drink when she wants one, she'd rather it just there for when she wants it, and not have to wait to call someone, wait for them to come, wait for them to go, then wait for them to come back again with said water.

There are plenty of places in the terminal from where you can buy bottles of water.

I wouldn't take them from the lounge but would buy them in the terminal. Maybe pedantic, but that's just the way I feel would be the appropriate thing to do.
