My point was that the water should be procured from a tap in a public toilet, and not from the hallowed lounge sources.

Seriously, if I pay 3 grand for a flight and I am concerned I will be dehydrated by lack of water on board, I will take as much bottled water as I need (glass bottle is the issue) from the lounge. I have found BA getting better at supplying botttles on board anyway lately so no need.
