That would be a no then. Afraid these supposedly cheapo fares won't get you anything on BD.
Here's an extract from the Sticky "READ THIS FIRST: bmi Diamond Club : FAQs, Seats, Planes, Promos, Contacts..." Above

Swiss miles apparently don't always post properly, either. I flew ZRH-BOS (enough miles to care) on LX 52 last October, booked as UA 8606 in H class. Per the tables on the bmi Web site, H fares should earn 1.0x miles on both LX and UA (not that the latter matters here), but the flight posted as 0.5x. A letter to Diamond Club with documentation got things fixed promptly, but this is something others might want to watch out for.

I've had my all my LX flights credit automatically so I need not worry about it much. I've only had problems with SQ, and (lately) TK flights.

The thing here is that H class on UA does not mean it will be H class on LX. More than likely it was on a lower booking class, eg V which would probably be why you only earned 0.5 miles. You get the miles earned on the operating carrier... not the carrier which you booked your flight on. Next time check with LX as to what booking class you are booked in. The check in agent may tell you.

That's not true. Most major booking tools now show fare class before you hit pay, especially both LX and LH.
What I object to is that it is hard to uprate a fare easily.

The LX website (their own, which tends to have lots of good offers) is very clear throughout which fare you book into - even when you are choosing the times/dates for your flights. There is also a confirmation on payment. However, others are right, if you want to pay a bit more for a few more miles it is not as simple.

That's not true. We're talking about codeshares here and when you book a codeshare, booking engines don't tell you what the stated fare code you're purchasing maps to on the operating carrier.

The poster in question was making a generalised comment that booking class was not available on most major booking engines which is simply not true. You can get the booking class of pretty much all sites now.
I do agree with you however that class translation is another matter, but to be fair that is not what the OP was talking about and I don't believe the Efrem was referring to booking class translation despite responding to Guy Betsy.

.....which is what he was referring too, in that his OP (from last month) was in relation to miles earned by booking a UA H fare but flying LX metal.

(At the time I was concerned that the difference between 0.5x and 1.0x, ZRH-BOS, might affect my requalification for Gold. As it happens it won't, but I was only a month into my DC year at the time and didn't plan to a trip to South America next week.)

So, although someone said "no" to Swiss "E" earning nil points is that the case and not just a BD IT error. Good to know before I do a big detour. Also, booked on an external page, does anyone know if LX will allow you do to a business upgrade on the fare (Saturday flight) which appears empty.
