friends,
can I ask your help for alternatives as I am having no luck on the ANA tool

I need to get from Singapore to Amsterdam with my better half.
Preferably in C or F. I do see the occasional Y option via Munich or Frankfurt.

Friday October 21st, departing after 8pm in SIN.
Returning on Saturday October 29th (landing on the Sunday at the latest).

Anyone with better insights than me, and/or with other tools than ANA could offer a solution? It is for 2 pax.

Thanks,
Globalist

Continental.com or Aeroplan both work- but ANA is the best.

There's loads.

Examples from ANA :
10/3 (MO) LH1035 Paris(CDG) Frankfurt 14:00 15:10 321 10/3
10/3 (MO) LH720 Frankfurt Beijing 17:20 08:30 +1 388
Seats in economy and business. Note the 388.

10/3 (MO) LH1041 Paris(CDG) Frankfurt 17:45 18:55 321
10/3(MO) CA932 Frankfurt Beijing 20:15 11:35+1 773
Seats in Business

10/4 (TU) TK1828 Paris(CDG) Istanbul(IST) 17:35 22:10 321
10/4 (TU) TK020 Istanbul(IST) Beijing 23:45 14:00+1 330
Seats in Business

10/4 (TU) TK1828 Paris(CDG) Istanbul(IST) 17:35 22:10 321
10/4(TU) TK026 Istanbul(IST) Shanghai(Pudong) 23:40 15:05+1 77W
Seats in business

10/4 (TU) LX633 Paris(CDG) Zurich 09:50 11:10 321
10/4 (TU) LX188 Zurich Shanghai(Pudong) 12:55 06:55+1 343
Seats in business and LX F

Helps to use the "Transit Point" to nudge ANA into providing connecting routes, try FRA (for LH), IST (TK) and ZRH (LX).

Given such an inflexible itinerary, Y is the best that the engines can come up with:

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I can't get the ICC to book this for me, even though I can 'see' availability in KVS, EF and ANA, are bmi blocking this?

Any suggestions warmly welcomed!

BMI have since said they have a known issue with CO not showing them any redemption seats in J/F, on any of their flights. Apparently it usually shows something like I0 X9 but the systems are only returning X9, as though 'I' class isn't even offered on that flight.
Here's hoping it's a temporary glitch in the matrix!

A long-sell should take care of that: http://Help.KVSTool.com/#AgentSaysNo

Hi
I'm hoping someone can help me
I'm finally trying to redeem some of my DC miles for a trip to Thailand for Christmas
Ideally I'd like to head out on the 16/17Dec in Business. However there's no availability (out of MAN which is my preferred location) or any other UK airport - or through any main SE gateways HKG, SIN)
I've played around with the ANA tool for a while (thanks for the great sticky) and have come up with the following route

MAN - FRA - NRT - BKK

MCT at NRT seems fine (arrive 08.35 depart 10.45)

However would this be an allowable route from MAN to BKK..??

If anyone has any better ideas I'd be grateful!

Thanks

Dan

beardotravel Sep 27, 2011 4:32 am

Sorry

Just twigged I may be able to get from MXP to BKK on the 17th

Would then just need to pick up a cheap flight from MAN to MXP

Think it's ok to book to one ways on redemptions (MXP to BKK and BKK to MAN)?

Think the cost would be 40000miles x 2 = 80000 (plus taxes)..?

Sorry for the thick questions!

Cost would be 120k for business (plus tax), or 60k + £405 + tax. That route is good because you miss the £150 APD. There is also the more complex MAN-MUC-ATH-BKK available in business, but then it's an extra stop, plus the extra £150. The only benefit is you're straight through on one ticket.

beardotravel Sep 27, 2011 6:15 am

Raikje - thanks - sorry you're quite right - missed the 1.5 business scale up factor from my calcs

Thanks for the other option via MUC/ATH

Looks like I can get a BA/Flybe codeshare for ~ £85 from MAN to MXP which would be cheaper than the £150 APD!
So that could be my best option (assuming MXP isn;t snowbound in Dec....)

Percy Pig Sep 27, 2011 7:29 am

After last december's heathrow nightmare I'm not sure I'd want the risk of a positioning flight in winter to save just £65... That extra protection of being one ticket might be worth it.
