Does anybody of you know which UA booking class(es) is/are relevant for a DC redemption in Business class? And are all seats in this/these booking class(es) available for DC members?

Thank you very much.

I class - and yes.

Do CA ever release more than 1 seat for LHR-PEK-LHR in J? V. little availability at all.

I would be very grateful if someone can check for availability for 1 pax ZRH-DXB [LX F] on 2 April '11 & DXB-ZRH [LX C] on 5 April '11. Thanks in advance.

As far as ANA is concerned.

2 April - ZRH-DXB = Nothing & nothign 2 days either side of this either.
5 April - DXB-ZRH = One seat is available in C with LX

M&M shows the same FWIW.

Help Please

Hi, I am hoping to fly

SHE -NRT-HNL. in business with my wife on or around 27th August

SHE is Shenyang in China.

Then to return the same route about 10 or 14 days later with a stop off in NRT.

Can someone please help with availability as DC are not even finding anything.

There are no 2 business seats between HND/NRT and HNL 26.08-30.08

There are 2 Y seats 29th August in the late evening from HND.

Getting to HND shouldnt be a problem via PEK

Try looking for 1 seat. If it's there, book it and see if the system immediately releases another seat.

Often that has been the only way to get more than seat on the same flight

So, I found tickets for one person on ANA, in business...but the ICC seem completely unable to do what you suggest. They say that there is no way that any system would release a seat for a second person, and that's that. *sigh*

Any other ideas? :-)

It's not really a case of what the ICC can or cannot do : it's down to how the airlines release the award seats.

I did this a couple of weeks back with the ICC : booked 2 redemption seats on TG, and had ANA open at the same time : as soon as the first seats were booked, another popped up on ANA so I asked the ICC to book that one too.
(yet another seat then popped up, but I didnt need that).

This seems to work better with some airlines than others : TG is particularly good at releasing extra seats.

Oh hrm I see, so I need to actually get them to book the seat. Damn, I wish I'd known that when I was booking! In the end we gave up on MLE and are going to Mauritius via JNB - but the LHR-JNB leg we are doing via IST on TK because there was only 1 seat available on SA direct. If I'd asked them to book that one seat, maybe another would have freed up...

I'm not sure how well that'd work with SA. Having followed availability quite closely for LHR-JNB-MRU I've noticed that they seem to release 2 seats and, when they're gone, that's it. I guess they could release more nearer the time ... but I only saw decreases in availability and no increases (looking at the last 3 months of the year). LX, on the other hand, seemed to introduce availability at random ... flights were popping up all over the place in no discernible pattern.

Unfortunately, SA are pretty much the only ones who connect to the MRU flight without a 24 hour wait.

Ok, thanks for the information. I guess I'll keep checking and see if some show up. For the day I want (22/08) both SA235 and SA237 have one business class seat free...but the wife and I would like to fly on the same plane :-)

On the way there, we have a stopover planned in JNB anyway, so I don't mind the wait...I'd just rather fly direct than via IST. Especially since TK planes LHR-IST tend to have economy class seats in Business! I'm really hoping they have real business class for IST-JNB. Maybe if a connection comes up with two seats in business on LX or LH I'll take that instead...

Cheers,

-simon

IST-JNB is a longhaul sector and has proper business class. LHR-IST usually also gets a widebody aircraft like A330 or so and the Biz class would be the same to longhaul in that case (not counting variations in C seat product by TK depending aircraft you get, e.g. A330, A340, B777 (9W one), etc.

If they use a A320/A321 for LHR-IST then the Biz product could be worse though.

Just realised my ANA account is empty...... Would someone with the ability be able to check for me whether there is any availability for 3 pax one-way in J class MIA-LHR around the 12th December? Many thanks in advance.

speccy Feb 28, 2011 2:21 pm

Hey folks,

Would greatly appreciate it if someone could check availability or suggest best-routing for a redemption between BOS and SEA on 9 or 10th September 2011. I'd be doubly grateful if the number of miles required could be clarified? Honeymoon planning was definitely not helped by the ICC!
