Getting sick of this

Yet again bmi have excelled themselves at LHR check in: only 2 staff at the business class check-in, queues just as long as economy.

Any further news on the self-service check-in? Many more mornings like today and I'm moving my business across to BA.

I had a similar morning, the staff on the *G desk were definitely doing me a big favour to check me in and when I was allocated a window seat wthout being asked and wanted it changing the sigh was so audible that I suggested the person ought to retire if she found passengers so tiring. The dagger stare just got nastier however. It's time somebody somewhere at bmi had a serious look at this crazy, day by day chaos that they are inflicting on their customers.

It really gets my goat when they allocate me a seat without asking. Particularly as my preference is recorded as window, yet they often seem to put me in the aisle.

Self service check-in is long overdue.

The way she handed me the boarding card without looking at me and continued to talk to her friend on the next desk was just plain rude. Had I said what I wanted to say, I would probably have been off loaded for being a difficult passenger. Strange, I was in a good mood this morning until I got to check in and I was in one again not too long after when I took it all out on the biscuits in the DC lounge. I find that bmi are incapable of allocating a seat in accord with my recorded preference of aisle.

Is Self Serve check-in coming soon? Does anyone know the status? I had heard that EDI was going to be one of the first places...

It's ages since I did domestic on BMI - can I check in for my return flight if I'm doing a day trip to London?

When I called customer service to complain they didn't have any idea when the machines would come in. Helpful, eh?

I always book a seat using the reservations line. And normally I find it changed by the time I get to the airport. Grrr...

I've chosen to fly BA out of T1 for the lame BD check in queues.

Wasn't the rollover to LH's system supposed to have sped up self service check in deployment??

Why are BD's queues *so* bad at LHR T1 (but not at any other airport)? Why are they *so* much worse than almost every other airline in every other terminal at LHR? The design of those "islands" does not help, but BA seems to do OK, so I just don't get it...

Another problem with T1... Have you noticed how bad the security lines have gotten in the space of 2-3 months? Often there is only 1 out of 5-6 machines working (plus 1 for staff, and 1 for Fast Track)

bmi ticketing and checkin + T1 security = 1 hour (yup, 60 whole minutes) from Heathrow Express to DC lounge for me last week... It does almost make you want to fly BA...

Having only 2 agents on duty most early mornings doesn't help the business class queues. And domestic security has been variable over the past few months -- I've seen the queue back beyond the bmi islands at times. Usual poor organisation/incompetence if you ask me.

Well I'm sure to the average person, it would seem that BD is busy and BA is not... pull back the curtain and you see that BD LHR T1 is simply just run so poorly compared to BA's T1 operation...

Hi,

Last night my dad flew down on BD65 ( Sched to Dep at 2050 actually left 4.5 hours late at 0120 this morning so he did not get to his hotel before 330am plus he had to wrk this morning.
This was due to computes at LHR being down earlier in the day and then a plane developing a problem.

The previous Sunday ,the BD 65 flew over 2 hours late also.

The only good thing is that he has my Supplementary Amex card so he could sit in the lounge.

On both nights BA flight were leaving as normal.

Apparently this was a bad week for bmi as there were delays also on Mon/Tue/Wed ( don't know how bad they were though due to computers going down)

He is thinking of going to BA ( even though no lounge access) for better reliability.

Regards

TBS

Yesterday morning, 06:55 BD050 LHR-EDI.

Get to LHR and they have 1 business check-in open. And a big queue.

Eventually I check in with an Economy agent who doesn't understand that the LHR-GLA Routepass can be used on the EDI route. And I then have to wait whilst this bozo wanders over to the ticket desk to have it sorted out.

I'm going to call BD customer services again to complain about LHR. It won't do any good but it might make me feel a little better.

If only the miles/tier points earning ability for VS FC from BD business class wasn't so tempting!
