I believe the Thai Immigration policy has changed recently and more (if not all) International arrivals clear immigration in Bangkok, rather than the domestic destination.

IIRC there's been an immigration post between the C concourse and the domestic concourse for a good 3 years and there was a requirement to clear immigration there rather then at final destination

Can't remember, might be worth asking on the TG forum, as BKKROP or someone like that will be able to give you far more up to date information.
Like I said though, TG often have agents at the end of the airbridge assisting transfer pax on specific flights
