D005297 Beware

B999000 is the Avis employee code. D005297 is the amatuer assistance sports program (or something like that). Used D005297 today and will nxt week, and following wk,etc.

A perfect reason why there was no need to call. If a code is available on a publicly available website, and is offered up to the general public there, one shouldn't have to worry about using it.

I'm really NOT trying to pick on you by posting - just using this as an example for others. No apology needed :)

Hi, I used the code K199060 and got the same rate as B116099. I then called Avis to confirm that I could use the code and they said yes and no ID or proof needed. This code is from the Orlando Visitors and Convention group and I also went on their website and found the code available for use. So I would use the K199060 just to be safe. :)

Update: I used the K199060 code at LAX on 7/14 and it worked. I was not asked for ID or anything.

Have you ever used the B999000 code? Was curious if they ask for ID if you are Avis 1st or Avis preferred, since your contract is usually on the dash, and you never speak to a employee of Avis, just the security guard upon leaving the lot. The rates on that AWD are unbelievable!

There has been a lot of debate on the origin of D005297. Amateur Sports Assistance Program produces Google results leading back to FT.

I tried these three codes as well as some codes I collected from the last couple pages of this thread plus some ones I had noted from time gone by. I believe (or was led to believe) that the following origins are:

D005297 Amateur Sports Assistance Program
K199060 Delta
B116099 American College of Physicians
J868801 FL Tourism
D005150 National Charter Schools Conference
A074800 Citicorp Leisure Travel
A972200 Farmers Insurance
Z652297 ???
B021600 Wal-Mart
B021615 Wal-mart
K024400 Continental
K817600 Delta
K860600 Starwood
B935221 Sam's Club

LAX 9/12 to 9/18 and here was my results:

Greetings,

I have a wizard code and the discount card from AVIS from the previous company I was working at in the U.S. The wizard code still works at the AVIS website when I went to check on car rentals in Toronto. My question is whether the AVIS counter would ask for confirmation that I still work at the company? The last thing I would need is having my rental rate decline because I can't provide proof of employment. Thanks so much!!!!

By Wizard code I assume you mean AWD code. The Wizard number is your own unique personal membership number.

There is no way anyone here could know the answer without knowing which company you worked for or what the code is.

That said, proof of employment is rarely requested for corporate codes.

Were you ever asked for proof of employment when you used this code before? Do you have any of your old business cards - that's all you need.

Also, considering you have a Wizard number you must be a member at some level of the Avis Preferred Club. As a preferred member, you bypass the counter, check the board for your stall # the car is in and drive out. At the exit, you'll be asked for your DL - -that's it.

Have a great trip - Toronto is one of my favourite cities!

Hi Guys, great post.

You could potentially save me a small fortune.

I entered A972200 and got a hefty discount. Is it safe to use and who is the code assigned to?

TIA

CJ

EDIT: Sorry, found the search this thread function and found my own answers. I didn't find out too much about the A515100 code though that saves me nearly £600! (almost $1,000!). All I found out was that it was assigned to Jeppesen and it seems that one user has used it succesfully without ID.
Can anyone confirm that this code is "safe"?

Shoei, as good as a business card is a stub from an old paycheck or other evidence of salary payment by your ex-employer.

Caution! I checked this code on a one-way and found it did not include any miles - each mile was 0.25.

91lsc Jul 25, 2009 9:16 pm

For yhz (halifax) 7/26 -7/31:

A972200 $195 (750km)
B999000 $165
D005297 $236

The 2nd and 3rd codes had unlimited usage. These quotes are in CAD without taxes and fees. Any help with other codes or a coupon for the farmers code to get unlimited usage would be apprieciated. Will be applying the MUAA133 for my skymiles bump.

Thanks.
