K444404

Hi all,

I just used K444404 in Austria for a 17 day reservation between May and June 2009. I was not questioned (or chastised) for using this code. Not sure if this was because it was okay to use or if the location was just so small (Linz, Austria) that they were not aware to flag this code. My next European rental will be out of Munich and I will try this code again in conjunction with my Avis Preferred Services card which should allow me to bypass the counter and go straight to my car (with applicable code in place). I'll have a back-up reservation with Sixt or Hertz just to be safe! ;)

Just jumping in here. I need a car for one night in Aug in New Orleans.

I see that the amateur sports code gives me a pretty nice discount.

Will I need some sort of proof of membership once I check the car out?

I have used it countless times and have never been asked for any ID of any kind. I don't know how long we can all use this code before Avis catches on but until then.... go for it. :)

I hope they realize that if the take this code away or start mandating ID checks that I won't just go ahead and give Avis more money. I will simply go somewhere else. So Avis, if your listening, don't cut your nose off to spite your face. Avis, you are getting a very steady stream of revenue from me because of AWD D005297 and c-codes MUAA088 & MUAA133. Don't screw it up!

A one-way of that length is difficult to do cheaply as you are putting a large # of miles on the car and leaving it far from where it started. Unless the car company has some particular desire to move cars that distance, I doubt you will find a really cheap deal for 2 weeks of an SUV and that great a distance. I suggest trying any/all discount codes in this thread, and checking all US rental car companies using good discount codes for the others as well. (You can find these on FT for almost every company)

+1. Darientes should try travelocity.com to view all rental co.s at once. Also do without a car while in Chicago & pickup in downtown Chicago if s/he will be staying there a few days. Rate may be lower (or higher) than ORD pickup.

Given the distance you are traveling you might also want to look into Auto Driveaway.
Trouble with Auto Driveaway is that they require U to drive steadily > 400 miles/ 644 km per day with minimal deviation! Good for someone who wants to make short stops--service clients for a half or full hour each in a bunch of towns along the way, but not for sightseeing & appreciating the USA!

Finally, remember that Chicago to L.A. is about the same beeline distance as Dublin to Moscow or Athens!

This code works with no ID-average deals YMMV

Hello All,
I have used this code-X602000
It gives me pretty good deals on the East Coast.

This code really dropped my rate in Chicago Suburbs. Will I need ID to use it?

Thanks

Are you serious?

The poster specifically says in their post:

"This code works with no ID"

You are missing the title of the post which, IN BOLD, says

"This code works with no ID-average deals YMMV"

There's a lot of people on here begging for help without bothering to read anything or try anything first.

Anyone used G930700 lately?

I found this code here when booking back in March, but went with a "local" code instead. But, it's giving me awesome rates (beats the Amateur Sports one by $200 on a weekly rental). I wrote it down, but can't remember who it's for or if there were any restrictions. Any help on this one?

About G930700, no one seems to know the origin of this code. Can anyone tell me if they have used this code and received FF miles... any amount. I ask because the Farmers code, at one time, could be used with coupons for bonus miles. But recently it changed and Avis told me "the company (Farmers) does not allow earning of FF miles for their discount code". Which means that farmers doesn't want to pay the 50c per day that is tacked onto the bill for FF miles.

I want to use G930700 but I don't want to be denied my 5K bonus for MUAA133 or MUAA088. The web site did not warn me that the Farmers code makes the coupon moot. I found out when I returned a rental and found 0 FF miles on the receipt.
