Just received this in the email:
As an Omni Select Guest member, you can enjoy a free one-car group upgrade on qualifying rentals of three days or more. This offer is valid on intermediate through full size four-door rentals at participating Avis airport locations in the U.S. and Canada until December 31, 2007. Simply provide coupon # UUHA012 when you make your advance reservation. Also, remember to use your Avis Worldwide Discount (AWD) number G009000 to receive up to 20% off your next rental. Just another way we try harder to make your trip better. Maybe I'm just naieve, but I've never heard of "Omni Select". Can you provide any insight to it? Thanks! |
It's an elite (frequent stay) program with Omni Hotels.

Avis does not verify the AWD discount codes you use. But you are only eligible to use a code that you qualify to use. Like AARP, AAA, Costco, USAA, or the company in which you work for. Some AWD codes come with insurance included, so that could account for the difference in using one or not using one at all.

Great AWD discount code
Rented both in YYC and SAN on D923800 - gave great discounts for both, in excess of 30%. This is a leisure rate for one of our sister companies - great rates especially for weekends! Rented at YYC for $22.90/day all in for a Group E. ^
Just wanted to share the warm fuzzies... |
As posted, try out D923800 - great discounts in both SAN and YYC... and I suspect in other locations as well.

I'm over in Germany next weekend, 3 days. Any recent good AWD/Coupon that will work?

Super-Preis - It knocked my 212 EUR price down to 210 EUR. *yeah* Extra langes Wochenende - This gets me 99 EUR including Tax/CDW/TP *cool* The Avis.de is also a bit anoying if one is used to Avis.com... |
That code doesn't work as well as the one I use all the time C031529. In YYC it reuslted in the same price most of the time. In SAN it's 1/2 the price!! C031529 is by far my favor AWD so far.
Edit: WARNING: DO NOT use Avis C03___9 AWD discount code anymore. I got a very reliable confirmation from an inside guy that this code is black listed now. Effective immedately, all benfits associated with code are removed(including free LDW insurance), anyone use this code will pay maxiumum rack rate regardless of reservation or website showing rate as well as company ID must be produced. A warning flag has been raised on this AWD and most likely you will be questioned about where you got the code. All in all, this code is nothing but trouble from now on. Oh well, it was great while it lasted. |

Well C031529 beats that code all the time. It is by far the best code I have ever used it. I use it all the time without problem. Use it with pleasure.... It looks like you haven't tried AWD D005927, at least for European rentals. In this case, it trumps C031529 by a wide margin. Case in point: for a two day rental of an intermediate vehicle in France(ORY), w/ C031529 the base cost is 142EUR; w/ D005927, the base cost drops to 85EUR! Extend the same rental to three days, and the rate w/ C031529 becomes 180USD; w/ D005927, it's 108USD, which is less than the two day rental in EUR!
gave a better rate than D005927, by about $20 when all is said and done. So, YMMV, is all I can say for sure! |
No problem As I said, C031529 AWD does wonder for me in North America. If you are renting in Europen countries, then you might able to find a better discount after some searching.

Neither makes the slightest difference
for random dates across the summer here in Boston.
BTW: any ideas as to why all the majors are showing huge (x 2 or more) price jumps in BOS this summer? They always went up after the 4th of July, but by $20-30 week. This year's increases are by hundreds of dollars. Avis $134/wk fullsize now becomes $296 in July with an AA AWD, $350 w/o; Hertz is a few bucks more and National more than both... I would think higher gas prices and a slowing economy would mean price cuts, not massive increases. |
