I've personally confirmed with 3 different people now who have used the Budget code X797726 within the last few weeks. Everyone said they had NO PROBLEMS at all, and everything went very smoothly! Looks like we have a winner! :D

Just used s190003, still works and great rates.

A good BCD: 40% Off

I've been able to reduce the 1-week rental cost for a Budget car in Kona for 3/12 -19 from $276.18 to $183.77, by using the BCD U109001. This is a NWA WorldPerks discount offering 40% off Budget rates. Just for good measure, I've also joined the NWA WorldPerks program and have an official number. The actual percentage reduction may be somewhat less, as some of the fees associated with the rental are fixed, rather than based on the rate.

Anyone know any codes for belgium?

I notice your rental is for a Compact car, or Economy Car -- --
You are a little bit unlucky. ?? - If you were renting 16 Mar -23 Mar '09, your total cost for a Standard car would be $133.71. Budget has an unusually good price on Std cars at KOA but only for rentals beginning after 15 Mar '09 as best I can determine. See my post -- Budget Section

Thanks for the info.

I exclusively sign up for economy cars, or whatever the lowest cost category is, because more than 1/2 the time I get bigger ones for no extra charge when they run short. And, smaller ones tend to use less fuel. So, I'm happy with whatever they give me.

I've just used U071101 to reserve a car for 3 weeks in April.
I got the same rate as X797726 gave me, and a choice of cars that was completely different from the standard rate list.

I ended up going for a Beetle convertible at a total cost of $750 inc all coverages - quite happy with that.

Jim77401 Mar 4, 2009 8:02 pm

Used U109001 for 6 day rental in Prague and it saved $21.33 USD.

Great code ^
Just took $130 off a week rental in Maui. And the rate includes LDW.

Thanks!

PS..Might do the same and get an official NWA membership just in case.

I'll be using U071101 at LAX in a few weeks. The rate went down about $300. Thanks reporting that it works there.^

It looks to me like V673016 is similar to X797726 (same rates for a one-way in Florida; maybe that they're both rate code 7G is the key?), but its source is verifiable and apparently free to use: http://www.mauiconcierge.com/vacatio...ls_budget.aspx

Up to 25% off at Budget plus a free day or free upgrade

Use BCD # S232000 for the up to 25% off and use coupon code UUCZ012 for a free upgrade or coupon code TUCZ038 for a free day on weekly rental.

Rental pickup by 12/31/09. Rate applies to daily, weekly or monthly rental.
Upgrade is for midsize thru fullsize.

I've held a car in FLL with the V673016. Saving me $200. I would like to hear more first-hand experiences with this code. Last time I tried to use a "legit" (something posted here from rental car momma or something :rolleyes:v) code in RSW I was shot down at the counter. Not cool.

It is on the page where you enter your personal information. Below personal information and credit card is a section called optional offer code. Enter your coupon code there. Discounts or upgrades are applied at the counter.

So, the coupon code discount price won't be reflected at checkout, only when you actually pick up car?

Actually when you RETURN the car and final bill printed. At least that is how it worked on 2 budget rentals we had -

The first one we did not even know it existed as it was not shown on the contract at all. We saw the receipt with an amount much less than it should have been - went back to counter to ask for an explanation. Counter agent printed the full receipt and we found there was a discount applied - $12.99 off for a one-day rental FLL city office to MIA airport. It is called "Help you to Offset Expenses on the Road" from a code for conventions. I am going to use the same code in 2 months to see if it would generate the same discount. It is 4 bucks more expensive than the X code before the discount. Given the discount is 13 bucks I am willing to gamble. :) We do this type of One-Way rentals very often for trips longer than 7 days which making airport parking too expensive.

The second one we knew (a $10 offer to offset cab fare from cruise pier to city rental office in Long Beach for a 2 day minimum rental). Discount printed on contract but not applied until car return.

Report from MCO - Florida

Well, the code (x797726) worked - no questions although the agent did remark that it was a great rate for this time of year. Got into Orlando at 10:00 am Sunday the 29th.

The problem though was the line/wait time at the counter - every other company counter was staffed and moving quickly, but Budget had only 2, occasionally 3, agents working and I was about 11-12 people deep in line. It took 75 minutes from the time I entered the line to actually get into the right vehicle (Budget is in the garage across the walkway, so it isn't like I had to take a shuttle either). When I finally got through the counter line they didn't have the right car ready so I had to wait extra, even though I had reserved the standard SUV - it isn't like I changed once I talked to the agent.

My family, who had been down there a few days ahead of me, had to wait all that extra time too for me to pick them up and it put everything a hour+ behind schedule.

If I had known it would take that long I would have gone with my backup Avis reservation. I'm back to National or Avis or anything but Budget after that ludicrous wait time.

You should join Budget's Fastbreak Program and bypass the lines.

Tenacious-D Apr 6, 2009 10:25 am

Actually, I did join their Fastbreak program, but I was afraid there would be a problem with the rate code so I wanted to confirm it before getting loaded in the car and trying to get out of the garage only to find they wouldn't honor the rate.

It saved me about $250 over the jacked up spring break rate - I kept reminding myself that as the line slowly inched forward. The line didn't look long but was soooooo slooooow.

I have used many codes with my fastbreak and they all work and never had an issue. I usually use code s190003 for my bcd as that has gotten most of the best rates for me out there. There are many other good rates so just double check the bcd codes that are valid.

Standard SUV for 1 cent/week

Just made a reservation using BCD T544500 (American Federation of Teachers) ANC 5/18-5/25 for a fullsize SUV- cost $.01 + $33.67 taxes & fees. We'll see if it holds up!

<edit> appears to be coming up with no BCD as well. Anyone ever see this? Anyone ever get this deal?

Can you add fastbreak after the fact? That computer glitch has healed itself, so the standard SUV is back up to $285+. I don't want to screw up a confirmed reservation! BTW, I am eligible for the American Federation of Teachers code I put in - got it off the AFT website.

Does anyone know where that code comes from. I don't want any problems or need to show something at the counter I don't have. It does give a really good rate and eliminated a $50 drop off fee for a one way. I suppose I could make a reservation with that code wth Budget and another with the other rental company that had given me the best price up to now and never had a drop off fee.. just in case they don;t honor it I go to the other company..

That's always a good idea when using a code which you are not really entitled to use ....

Sorry I can't help further as I don't know where the X797726 code comes from either; even did some searching on-line yesterday trying to find out but didn't have any success other than finding out (as reported here) it has been used sucessfully many times. It probably won't help even if someone did know where it is from as (sooner or later) Budget will catch on and close this loophole. Meanwhile, as always, use at your own risk .... and always have a backup plan/reservation! Good luck!

Tenacious-D Apr 14, 2009 2:30 pm

I don't know the origin, but I did personally use the code at the end of March in Orlando/MCO. The agent said that it was a great rate but didn't ask for anything else on it.

The problem, as I posted on page 18, was that it took over an hour to get thru Budget's line and actually get the car. Time is money, or something.

U071101 success in 2009?

I read through the last 5 pages of this thread, and still don't think anyone has come back to report a successful rental using U071101 in 2009? This code is giving me the best rate by far (about 50% off), but of course, want to see any first-hand experience for 2009.

Will I get in trouble if I'm not actually attending a conference?

randix Apr 19, 2009 12:12 am

I believe...

I believe I used that code earlier this year without a problem. Can't imagine why you should have a problem. It's just a generic code for biz types attending a conference. You actually think one of the clerks behind the counter are goin ask you what conference you're attending??? I don't believe that's in their script...we can provide you with an upgrade for only $50/day more...

I just got back from Orlando on Saturday. Used the X797726 code and had absolutely NO problems. Word of advice...sign up for FastBreak on the Budget site! It saved me SO much time! The line at the Budget counter (as well as the other companies) in MCO was HUGE! I simply walked accross the street to the FastBreak kiosk where there was ONE person in line and they were finishing up. I handed the lady my reservation confirmation, my driver's license, and a credit card. She gave me an option of two different vehicles in the class I had booked. I told her which I preferred, and in less than 1 minute, I had the keys in my hand. Was really impressed with the service. Drop off was equally efficient. Pulled into the lot, a lady took a loop around the vehicle to check for damage, popped her head in to look at the gas gauge, printed a receipt on her handheld device, and I was off.

By the way, I also searched online for COUPON codes for Budget. Off the top of my head I can't remember which one I used, but it saved me an additional $30 when I returned the vehicle.

hauteboy Apr 27, 2009 5:11 pm

Anyone have a good code for one-way Banff to Calgary? I'd been looking at rate for a 4-day rental and until recently was seeing rentals with limited kms per day (fine by me) for ~200CAD. I should have made a reservation as now now only see unlimited km rates but it's ~400 CAD.
