I am looking for a car for Hawaii in December and just tried the Island Air website. The rates are close to half of what any of the codes listed here are. Has anyone done reservations thru their site?

thanks

TravelingGator Sep 12, 2006 11:31 pm

yes

I booked through the island air website as well for January, and the rates are great, shouldn't be a problem once you go pick up the car.

Try BCD X7932000

fishee Sep 14, 2006 2:03 pm

None of these codes are doing anything for me. I'm coming up with a $26
daily rate for a Miami rental. (Costco W852802)

I've rented before from MIA for $18/day this year -- if anyone has a Florida code, please share, it would be much appreciated. Thanks

i had been using the X739200 code all summer here in philadelphia and scoring a single day rate of $25 (the rate was $44.99 with no BCD) and getting everything from a pontiac G6 to a chrysler pt cruiser. everytime i picked up the car the attendant was shocked by the rate.

i just tried the code again today, and there was not any discount applied at all. the X793200 gave me a pre-tax rate of $40.49. looks like someone finally caught on.

Thanks for the code, I just booked an intermediate car for $21.90 at BUR. All the other codes were giving rates of $33 plus.

pollyvw Nov 19, 2006 7:22 pm

Wondering if the actual coupon is really required when you pick up card having reserved with these codes. Who has experience to share? I am finding that several of these codes work, but when I try to use them to make reservations with a consolidator, the website says 'actual coupon will be required at check-out.'

TrojanHorse Nov 28, 2006 3:05 pm

just an FYI, this code X280201 worked great at LAX for the first weekend of Dec 06 - 2 days for a total including tax of $41.03 or ($18.95/day plus tax) and also at IAD for $43.17 for three days Friday - Monday before tax ($53.59) with tax.

Anyone have any idea what BCD would work in DR? I have tried a bunch of codes from here and no success till date. Thanks,

Try x443030. That's the Entertainment Book Code for Budget. GL

I've used these many times--
AAdvantage BCD U072400
coupon TUAZ040

gets double AAmerican miles.

I've tried the BCD code above and it gives me the same discounted rate as my AAA BCD and Rutgers Alumni Association BCD. However the coupon code comes up as error that this location doesn't accept it.

Sadly, the total is over $50 for a one day rental plus $25 for under 25 year old driver (I'm 24) I can't justify paying $75 for an Econobox after paying $84 for roundtrip JetBlue airfare from JFK to ROC and back... the pride would kill me.

--Russ

PS. Anyone has any legitimate coupon codes I could use at Budget? ( no one else would rent to under 25 at that location in NY, Enterprise and Hertz charge $35 more but their rates are higher, Avis rates are the lowest but they charge $110 surgarge!!!)

Also try X773400 Not sure where that one originated (it seems to be built into my profile) but it came up with the same rates as X793200.

Beware BCD # X739200

Originally Posted by sdcarver (Post 6182355)

I had a car booked with this rate and went through a lot of umms, aahs, etc when picking the car up.

Seems this is an internal code used by Budget for Insurance claims. Apparently one's insurance company will make the reservation directly with Budget when they need a replacement vehicle while the insured's car is being repaired.

I was picking up at MIA and the woman immediately recognized the code as the MIA location is not supposed to be renting Insurance Claims; these are normally only rented from off-airport locations.

I was drilled for 5-10 minutes (How did I make the booking? Did I have my confirmation print-out from the web? {I did} Was I in an accident? Who was my insurance company? what was my claim number? Why did my insurance company reserve my a replacement car at an airport location?) In the end she did everything she could to have the system force the rate but she couldn't get past the screen asking for the Insurance Claim Number. She subsequently checked with her Manager who told her to do just do a new booking. When I compared the new booking rate to the X739200 rate, there was less than $5 difference. She booked the new car using BCD W852802. When reviewing the paperwork I noticed the price difference and she said she could refer back to the Mgr again and have him put a credit thru but I told her that was fine as my company would reimburse me anyway. I didn't want to draw any more attention to the situation for less than $5.

So, the long and short of it all based on my experience is to tread very lightly if trying to use BCD X739200 in the future.

similar experience in Denver

booked with the same insurance claim code at Denver airport. One confused young man behind the counter who had to get his supervisor, who then said that they couldn't do it and started asking me similar questions about claim numbers, etc.

told them I just wanted to get a rental and if this caused a bunch of hassle to just book me a regular rate (with a AAA discount). When they entered my name again, the computer wouldn't take it!. Had to enter it with my middle name first, and a different credit card... I wonder if I will need to continue doing so in the future everytime I rent in Denver.

The guy behind the counter felt bad and upgraded me to an H3 (very handy in the snow of Southern Colorado where I needed to go), however, if you ask me if the extra hour at the Budget counter was worth saving $20, I would so no...

Based on that experience I could not recommend using the code unless you have the insurance claim to back it up...

I had the same thing at MIA. The woman told me one person can not have two reservations for the same location/same day. She had to repeat the last letter of my last name to get the new rez set-up for my second rez, too!

I don't know what the origin of x280201 is but many thanks - the rate at PHX was nearly identical to x793200 and hopefully doesn't come with the hassles associated with the latter. About $50 cheaper than the regular rate on a weekend rental, and $30 less than Hertz.

My last rental at SAN was hassle free and the .5 RR credit just put me over the top for a free flight on WN, so I have nothing but ^ for Budget.

Same deal here. Bunch of b.s. when I went to pick it up. I had printed out the page from rentalcarmomma.com and showed them. The agent then started a new rental for me at 3X the cost! Told her to take a long walk and went and rented elsewhere.
I'm not using that code in the future.

Valid Code in Caribbean (Grand Cayman)

Hi there,

Any suggestions on a BCD code to use at GCM? Any experiences with this Budget station?

Many thanks

CApreppie Mar 6, 2007 1:14 pm

I called up reservations and the agent used the Fastbreak BCD JH999G and then gave me a $5 off coupon MUFZ031.

I actually had priced the Fastbreak BCD versus the AA/UA BCDs and the airline rates were lower.

So I booked my reseravtion using the AA BCD and the called up to ask a question and the agent said here's a $5 coupon and changed it to the Fastbreak BCD while keeping my original lower rental rate. :)

Are any of these codes good for discounts for full size SUVs for June?

I'd like to rent a full size SUV for 9 days in June, but the price with tax is about $600. Does anyone know of any discount codes or coupons I can use at JFK to get the price reduced?

Thanks,

BCD X739200 not good for Airport locations

Had a similar experience with BCD X739200. Although I had read the posts already even before I booked, I thought the BCD I used was not the insurance one. Anyway, I ended up at the counter with a supervisor who noticed that it was the insurance replacement code. She explained that I couldn't avail of the rate becuase they didn't offer that rate at Airport locations. It took her another 15 minutes to make me a new reservation for a full size instead of a premium but the new rate was a lot higher even with some discount. I politely turned down the new agreement and walked over to Avis to get my regular corp rate on a full size. I ended up with a Mazda 5. It is some sort of a mini mini van. :)

I've discovered a very interesting link; it appears to be a resource intended for Budget's own customer service reps:

https://www.budget.com/bvr/web/html/...D_Numbers.html

Even more interesting material can be found by clicking the "return to BVR home" link on that page; for example:

https://www.budget.com/bvr/web/html/...promo_log.html
https://www.budget.com/bvr/web/html/..._POWERDRV.html

(The second one gives a bunch of nice coupon codes while also explaining how to "capture the reservation, and ultimately the rental, by making the customer feel that they are receiving a special value and that we care about their business.")

There is also good, detailed information about rental policies around the world, and this helpful guide to staying in shape:

https://www.budget.com/bvr/web/html/...ergocizes.html

Anyway, I found much of it quite interesting and revealing; I don't know how long it will remain open like this, but I highly recommend taking a look.

Nice find -- thanks for sharing.

I tried a couple of the coupon codes on an upcoming reservation and they didn't error out, but also didn't lower the rate of the reservation (but I think that's typical of their reservation system -- the discount, if available, will be reflected at pick-up).

Just for kicks, I plugged in the BCD number listed for Cendant employees -- gave me a rate that was over $20 higher than the standard budget.com rate. Sounds like some of the supposed employee "discounts" at my employer! :)

brokenunison Jun 1, 2007 8:16 pm

That number you gave with the 3 letters and 3 numbers is your BCN/Rapid Rez/Fast Break number and I wouldn't be giving that out to anyone seeing as how it has your credit card number and other pertinent info attached to it. The BCD number is 1 letter followed by 6 numbers and that gives you the discount.

Going to Cheyenne from Salt Lake Round Trip- Need Discount Code

I am trying to rent a car for my brother's wedding in Cheyenne. I will be driving from Salt Lake to Cheyenne roundtrip, I want to leave on the 15th and return on the 17th. Any codes out there?

zachary Jun 11, 2007 10:59 am

I've got an upcoming reservation and wanted to combine the Costco BCD number with an Entertainment Coupon to get the lowest possible rate. The website took the combination, but will it work at the counter? I do this all the time at National, but wasn't sure about Budget. My rental is in ORF.

Thanks.

Thanks for the links (a few messages up), very handy.

Seems like I can't do any better than my AAA rate. Just need to find the right coupon to go along with it.

Budget location near SEA

Thanks for the links. If you are renting a car in SEA and want to avoid the airport charges, try location KT1 (Kent). It is just a few miles away. Upon calling them, I learned that they will deduct the cost of a cab from your rental bill if you save your receipt. I am renting for 17 days and the KT1 rate was $400 less than the SEA rate.
