newbie here. never booked thru sw or using sw codes.
do i need to book thru sw.com or can i use those codes at budget.com?
if budget.com how do i ensure the points are credited to my RR account?
are reservations at sw.com fully cancelable/refundable?
thanks

No good deals
I just booked out of MDW and no deals anywhere.
Just paid $100 for 2 days on budget (incl all fees).
I used the southwest codes just for fun to see if it will give me the extra miles. It did not lower the price at all.
Also, the budget website is screwed up you have to add 5 zeros in front of your southwest number to get the reservation to accept it.

"Is there a trick to getting a good rate on a one-way rental? I want to go from DEN to PHX in August over an 11-day period and I need something with six seats. I've tried various BCD codes and the best I am finding is about $1600."
Arizona and Florida often have cheap one way rentals to get cars to and from there to coincide with snowbirds and tourism; meaning cheap one-way fares to get cars OUT of there in Summer and cheap one way fares TO there in Fall. They may not be posted this far in advance however, so probably not much help at this point.
Maybe you could just get a reservation on hold and then check back closer to Aug. Not sure on the exact schedule, but August may also be a little early for Phoenix to "car up" for the season.
$1600 seems a bit steep. Maybe other options besides car rentals?, like people needing a vehicle driven?

7/4 - 8/6 from Budget at BPI (west palm beach)
Used the free upgrade coupon from RCM. BCD was X793200. There are several coupons at RCM depending on length of rental.
Most value for me was the free upgrade which I used from to go from full-size to premium (highest allowed with the coupon). Between the other grades it was less than a $50 difference. Total was $803 with taxes (and the pay in advance discount). The premium was going for over $1000. Budget seemed to have the best rates for a longer term rentals.

BCD S341840 is very very good - including price caps and city surcharges in many of the more expensive cities. Our Budget rep invited us to share the code so feel free to use. Definitely worth taking a look and comparing.

I can't get a single BCD to give me anything better than the normal rate at any Louisville location. What gives? Is summer a BCD blackout season or something?
EDIT: BCDs work at the airport location, but PCs aren't working there. PCs work at the off-airport corporate locations, but BCDs aren't working.
