I assume you did, but if you didn't...

try the costco bcd, W852800... and while I'm here, given the hike up in car rental rates, it usually makes $ sense to check the off site airport locations...definitely worth a cab ride...cheers...

Thank you Evan! My issue is that I think it's ironic that MUAZ015 worked at tiny SBA, but not at big ol' LAX. Since there's the same red writing today, it's doubtful that it's a glitch..

Not really ironic. LAX is a licensee-owned location. SBA is corporate-owned. You should always check out a location here: http://www.budget.com/budgetWeb/locationsearch/locationlook.ex first. If a location is licensee-owned they might not be a "participating location". While corporate-owned locations are not a 100% guarantee to be a participating location it is 99% in my experience.

Wondering if EWR checks for the membership card - any experienes?

toura lura Oct 17, 2010 10:57 am

Many Thanks, SuperFlyBoy !!!

I had forgotten my Costco card as a source of a discount for my car rental.

Several weeks ago, I reserved a standard car - one-way rental for 1 - 24 hour period. I was being charged $120 incl. all taxes (found out a convention is in town) !! But still thought it was way too much.:td:

Yesterday, I see the code here and used it - the price went down to $53 (yes, that is no misprint !!). Unbelievable.

Worked out great - Thanks, Toura

I'm a card carrying hot dog member of Costco, and...

have never, ever been asked to produce proof of membership, anywhere in the US.

what about using the $30 off a week coupon on top of the BCD? When I do a quote, I am not seeing the $30 deducted from the quote.. is this something Budget does at the counter? I am used to National where the coupon is deducted immediately on the quote.

This is one of many ways Budget sucks .... they will deduct the coupon at the desk .... sometimes .... as although you must enter the coupon for the reservation, the reservation system won't tell you if it will apply (or not) and/or what the discount will be.

More than once, I have had what I thought was a valid coupon refused at the desk. The last time was over a year ago and I haven't used Budget since. I probably never will (if I am counting on a coupon) until they change to match what everyone else does .... that is to validate (or reject) the coupon at reservation time, show the discount, and guarantee it's validity.

I am wondering the same thing...anyone have any history with this? PM me and I will keep this under my hat forever ;)

Cuts my one way rental rate in half compared to anything else!

Great BCD. I'm a FastBreak member but didn't get that email. Targeted? It works online for my rental out of PHX. Anyone foresee any problems? It's almost exactly the same discount as the Costco BCD. BIG.^

Here's something interesting I just found. I'm trying to plan a trip from San Francisco to Vegas, so I figured I'd rent a car and enjoy the drive on highway 1 along the way and even stop a day (or two) in LA in between.

Turns out that Budget doesn't allow one-way rentals from SF to LA or even from SF to LV. Anyone else experience that? Also, what do you guys think would be my best option?

No, U204720 does not require credentials and delivers outstanding rates about 90% of the time.
