It looks to me like V673016 is similar to X797726 (same rates for a one-way in Florida; maybe that they're both rate code 7G is the key?), but its source is verifiable and apparently free to use: http://www.mauiconcierge.com/vacatio...ls_budget.aspx

Where do you enter the coupon code on Budget website? I only see a place to enter BCD code.

I've held a car in FLL with the V673016. Saving me $200. I would like to hear more first-hand experiences with this code. Last time I tried to use a "legit" (something posted here from rental car momma or something :rolleyes:v) code in RSW I was shot down at the counter. Not cool.

It is on the page where you enter your personal information. Below personal information and credit card is a section called optional offer code. Enter your coupon code there. Discounts or upgrades are applied at the counter.

Thanks for info.
So, the coupon code discount price won't be reflected at checkout, only when you actually pick up car?

Actually when you RETURN the car and final bill printed. At least that is how it worked on 2 budget rentals we had -

The first one we did not even know it existed as it was not shown on the contract at all. We saw the receipt with an amount much less than it should have been - went back to counter to ask for an explanation. Counter agent printed the full receipt and we found there was a discount applied - $12.99 off for a one-day rental FLL city office to MIA airport. It is called "Help you to Offset Expenses on the Road" from a code for conventions. I am going to use the same code in 2 months to see if it would generate the same discount. It is 4 bucks more expensive than the X code before the discount. Given the discount is 13 bucks I am willing to gamble. :) We do this type of One-Way rentals very often for trips longer than 7 days which making airport parking too expensive.

The second one we knew (a $10 offer to offset cab fare from cruise pier to city rental office in Long Beach for a 2 day minimum rental). Discount printed on contract but not applied until car return.

Report from MCO - Florida

Well, the code (x797726) worked - no questions although the agent did remark that it was a great rate for this time of year. Got into Orlando at 10:00 am Sunday the 29th.

The problem though was the line/wait time at the counter - every other company counter was staffed and moving quickly, but Budget had only 2, occasionally 3, agents working and I was about 11-12 people deep in line. It took 75 minutes from the time I entered the line to actually get into the right vehicle (Budget is in the garage across the walkway, so it isn't like I had to take a shuttle either). When I finally got through the counter line they didn't have the right car ready so I had to wait extra, even though I had reserved the standard SUV - it isn't like I changed once I talked to the agent.

My family, who had been down there a few days ahead of me, had to wait all that extra time too for me to pick them up and it put everything a hour+ behind schedule.

If I had known it would take that long I would have gone with my backup Avis reservation. I'm back to National or Avis or anything but Budget after that ludicrous wait time.

You should join Budget's Fastbreak Program and bypass the lines.

Tenacious-D Apr 6, 2009 10:25 am

Actually, I did join their Fastbreak program, but I was afraid there would be a problem with the rate code so I wanted to confirm it before getting loaded in the car and trying to get out of the garage only to find they wouldn't honor the rate.

It saved me about $250 over the jacked up spring break rate - I kept reminding myself that as the line slowly inched forward. The line didn't look long but was soooooo slooooow.

I have used many codes with my fastbreak and they all work and never had an issue. I usually use code s190003 for my bcd as that has gotten most of the best rates for me out there. There are many other good rates so just double check the bcd codes that are valid.

Standard SUV for 1 cent/week

Just made a reservation using BCD T544500 (American Federation of Teachers) ANC 5/18-5/25 for a fullsize SUV- cost $.01 + $33.67 taxes & fees. We'll see if it holds up!

<edit> appears to be coming up with no BCD as well. Anyone ever see this? Anyone ever get this deal?
