Hi Happy, do you mind to share which code you used for your AVIS reservation?

I am too lazy to look it up now, but you can find it in Avis forum there is a similar thread. It is the amateur sports club code.

EDIT

I see you already asked questions in Avis forum. Both codes you asked for would require ID - the Avis employee and FL state employee.

You would not find high discount for car rental in Feb in FL due to the high season demand.

In fact, Hertz each year have CHEAP one-way rental rate for people to drive cars to FL in Winter and then same thing for people drive car out of FL starting from June.

BCD code for Europe

What is best code for Europe?

The U071101 is supposedly expired on 12/31/08. But apparently it is still workable, at least when making booking, for rental way beyond that date.

I just tested it at the AARP Budget website and it still seems to work.

Yes, it is working. The real test is when you are at the counter, or when you return the car later and the bill is being audited.

The only real fool-proof thing is someone uses this code in Jan 2009 and report back the outcome. So far we haven't had one.

Any news on the U071101 BCD code, folks?

It would cut the cost of a Florida rental by over 50%, literally, but I'm hesitant to use it. Visiting family in Naples, I usually rent from a neighborhood location and the guy who runs it really gave me a hard time last time because I got a fantastic and totally legitimate rate by using the discount from the Entertainment book. I had to fight with him to honor the reservation and he wasn't too happy about it. Actually, I had a coupon for $20.00 off the already reduced rate from the Entertainment Book and he refused to honor it even though the reservation was totally on the up and up.

Looking back, I should have reported him to corporate, neither here nor there, frankly it was not worth my aggravation with him over $20 but still, it is really the principle of the matter. I had a legit reservation and a legit coupon and he refused to take the coupon.

That aside, I like Budget and use them frequently.

Anyway, if he gave me such hell over using a totally legitimate code, I'm hesitant to book using this one, even if it is theoretically for a (Florida?) conference and I theoretically shouldn't have any problems.

Any news on this U071101 ?

anyone know the source of the this code?

Try google searches for the above two codes. The first appears to be business convention travel and still is good as of today as I used it to book a car in FLL.

Please report back on BCD codes

I did use BCD U071101 and got a good price for Ft Myers in early February -- just don't want any hassles at the pickup counter! Has anyone used this successfully in '09? Someone upthread said that it expired in 08. Need reassurance from actual experience, please!

Rate for U109001 was even better -- is that the Northwest Air code? We're flying Delta, and they are related now... any experiences using that one? Thanks for any info.

This code was posted on another site. x797726 Anyone have any idea of its validity? The rates were super low for a very expensive weekend in Florida. Don't want to get caught a code that is not publicly available.

Wow, this is even lower than the "U071101" rate on a full-size SUV - in FLA for spring break. I reserved yesterday using that one and joined their Rapid-Rez and FastBreak programs also hoping to be able to jump in and drive out with a good rate (or at least better than the other companies).

I hope to hear more on both x797726's source and U071101 actually working in 2009 - I don't want to get stuck at the last minute getting gouged on prices of course.

Anyway, thanks to all for this thread! I hope I can contribute something in the near future.

What other site was this posted on? I can't find anything about this code (except for postings here) using Google and other search tools .... oops .... edited to add: I found it on the Trip Advisor forum

It looks so good it seems must be a restricted code (i.e. employee code/whatever).

If you use it, be sure to have a backup reservation!

Update on the code X797726. I called Budget today pretending to be interested in making a reservation using this code. I told them that a friend suggested this code. The representative didn't blink, but continued to try to book me the reservation using the code. Before it was finalized, I said that I wasn't interested at this time, but was just wondering if I would be able to use this code. She said this particular code is a "business code". I asked if I needed to show any sort of identification to use it, and she said that I'd have to show ID for this particular business. I'm sure that MOST of the codes that are found online are specific to certain businesses, and I'm sure most times they don't bother asking for the ID. BUT....just a word of warning. I'd love to hear someone's success story using this code before my trip. I think what I might do is book 2 reservations, one with this code and one with the generic Walmart code from mousesavers.com. That way, if they refuse this code, I'll have a backup. Has anyone ever done this before? As long as I didn't provide a credit card number at the time of reservation, they can't charge me if I don't use one of them right?? If anyone has any experience with this, please let me know! Thanks!
