I will not be surprised that if Skytrax downgrades OZ to a 4-star airline.

4 stars?
Not that Skytrax ratings mean anything, but IMHO OZ deserves no more than 2 stars.

They'll just hand some more money than usual to keep their 5 stars

In difficult times like this, maybe Asiana can double cater at out ports? Sort of like doing take aways. CX double caters for short hauls.
(ok I admit logistically this may not work.)

Asiana is not known to have a variety of meals, so I suppose they can just bibimbap all short hauls meals?

I was going to say, I was completely unaware of Skytrax until it was mentioned upthread. It seems the registrant for their Web site is based in Canada. Am I the only one who was ignorant of that site?

Only one on FT, yes.

Foreign departures are all fine. You won't be hungry.

.. for pre-departure airport meals or future OZ flight or duty free? Just curious. Flight, on the other hand, must have been quite enough for an intensive nap.
The voucher was for buying duty free or future reservation. I slept almost the whole flight and when I figured out that I wanted to buy duty-free, the plane had been descending to HKG already.

This is quite a situation for Asiana... apparently the problem is not going to be fixed before Sep. It could be catastrophic for the brand.

Can anyone confirm that this problem still exists?

According to one article Asiana decided to change their in-flight meal caterer in Korea because LSG Sky Chefs was unwilling to acquire bonds issued by Kumho Holdings valued at $142 million.

What a bunch of idiots running the airline, if it's true.

I have seen this article but it seems like it is only relying on the information we all know and that is several days old.

Are there any recent first-hand experiences on an OZ flight without catering?

Flew with them yesterday ICN-FRA in C-class.
Excellent service but HORRIBLE food. It was low-class economy food served on a plastic tray. And second serving (that we got 1500 hours) was breakfast (scrambled and weiners).. really sad.
I understand their catering problems, fix it quick!

Oh no, that‘s exactly my flight on August 22... hope they‘ll fix it soon. Otherwise I have to consider rebooking on another carrier. But I‘d really love to try OZ.
