In difficult times like this, maybe Asiana can double cater at out ports? Sort of like doing take aways. CX double caters for short hauls.
(ok I admit logistically this may not work.)
Asiana is not known to have a variety of meals, so I suppose they can just bibimbap all short hauls meals?

Wow - according to another news article, Asiana forced GA/FA not to announce the meal situation at the first day when passengers could go eat on their own instead of boarding after 3+ hours of waiting only to realize there's no meal. Some GA felt guilty looking at seniors kids babies in hunger at gate who couldn't go eat something to not miss the flight.
Foreign departures are all fine. You won't be hungry.
.. for pre-departure airport meals or future OZ flight or duty free? Just curious. Flight, on the other hand, must have been quite enough for an intensive nap.

According to one article Asiana decided to change their in-flight meal caterer in Korea because LSG Sky Chefs was unwilling to acquire bonds issued by Kumho Holdings valued at $142 million.

What a bunch of idiots running the airline, if it's true.

I have seen this article but it seems like it is only relying on the information we all know and that is several days old.
Are there any recent first-hand experiences on an OZ flight without catering?

Excellent service but HORRIBLE food. It was low-class economy food served on a plastic tray. And second serving (that we got 1500 hours) was breakfast (scrambled and weiners).. really sad.
I understand their catering problems, fix it quick!
