OZ is removing F in 777s right now. I wouldn't expect F in A350. Looking at seat maps, TG one seems what OZ will follow mostly.

But I would assume the QS seat rather than the Solstys that TG uses, no?

I believe they need to start or switch to routes that do not have competition or guaranteed business. Flying into SFO is just fighting it's own partner for business.

IAH on the other hand is an connecting UA hub, KE flies 3x here even though IAH is not an skyteam hub. OZ could do some serious damage to KE and rely on connecting travelers to fill up there planes at IAH.

There's not enough flow traffic at ICN from OZ from North America like KE has.

Business class type looks similar between TG (on A350) and OZ QS, isn't it? The number (and type) of seat is what OZ would likely to follow. I think OZ will limit business class section between L1 and L2 doors.

Here's a very funny QS picture. Seat of the guy lying down is still upright, not in the bed mode.

Yes the layout is very similar staggered 1-2-1 but technically a different seat.

Nice! I've seen pax do that. Not sure they knew how to make the seat recline.

Kinda hard not to when there's an little bed logo button.

Wish I could do that too but height is an issue.

their layover timings seem to be terrible. For Sin to LA or NYC flights require at least a 6hr layover, I wonder why they cant retime their flights to have a shorter connection time for onward connections.

Fleet utilization. They don't leave the aircraft sitting on the ground at the destination, but turn them right back to ICN. This is good for fleet utilization efficiency, but makes for some very long connections at ICN.

BKK-ICN is another example.

Although posted separately, let me continue this thread...
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/asian...m-economy.html

More A350 details are emerging. A350 begins commercial flight on May 15th, 7/w to KIX 6/w to MNL. Later this year to SFO and LHR and more. 36 premium economy seats, called 'economy smartium', will be introduced per aircraft with 3-4 more inches in pitch. Rumor is that total seat will be 311, C28PY36Y247.

Seatmap is released. C28PY36Y247.

One more caveat: inflight wi-fi on A350 will launch sometime this year. Pricing information not disclosed as of yet.

A359 schedule is loaded: 2 daily KIX and 6 weekly MNL, 5/15-8/13. Looks very tight but not sure OZ will have two A350s by then or not.
OZ112/111 0755-0940/1050-1240 ICN-KIX/KIX-ICN 7/w
OZ114/113 1405-1550/1700-1850 ICN-KIX/KIX-ICN 7/w
OZ703/704 1950-2250/0005-0510 ICN-MNL/MNL-ICN 6/w

One daily ICN-PEK and ICN-SIN 7/28-8/13
One daily ICN-PVG and ICN-SFO (first longhaul) 8/14-10/

Economy Smartium class. Nothing special about the seats, just more legroom. I am going to say this is disappointing, having just come of SQ's PE seats in their A350. I wonder now how many people will pay for an upgrade to PE on Asiana since the seat is the same as regular economy. Maybe for people who are 6'5" and over?

When economy already offers decent legroom (32-33"), smartium with 36" pitch wouldn't appeal that much. But unlike SQ who charges as much as twice for PE, OZ said there will be only like $150 or so surcharge for upgrading to the smartium on a longhaul, oneway. Much like UA E+. It may work.

also looks like the PE seats have a bit more recline, which imo, is better benefit than the extra legroom in OZ.
