Has anyone tried the Pixel lab tests recently for travel to Maldives? Any issues with timing?

Now you have to get a test 72 hours prior to your return to the US, correct?
How have people been doing this before their return?

Check with your hotel. I know the St Regis is offering PCR tests on premises.

Any recent data points on how long the resorts have been taking to return test results?

Anyone know what tests count for entry to the Maldives? We did a rapid at Walgreens for Hawaii will that count here. Trying to avoid having to do it on our wedding day so a faster test is ideal

Rapid antigen tests will not work. PCR only.

I suppose a few added words are needed for the traditional wedding vows:

In sickness and in health, no matter what the results of our COVID tests.
Seriously, though, congratulations on your upcoming nuptials. :)

thanks very much. We’re already survivors so we’ve done the sickness thing enough for now.

anyone fly into MLE recently? How long did it take you to check in with your resort from the time you arrived?

Planning a trip for next march and only flight I can make work lands in 12:15pm, with the last time slot to check in at 3:30pm.. Normally this is more than enough but with COVID measures not sure how long i'll take to clear security.

Did the Maldives ever start their "Vaccine Vacations" program?

TrojanTraveler Oct 19, 2021 9:16 am

Does anyone have any experience with getting a PCR test within 96 hours of departure, rather than 72 hours? The info from the Maldives govt website (dated July 2021) states 96 hours prior departure. I emailed our hotel and they told me the same thing. I am conservatively taking 96 hours prior to departure as 96 hours prior to leaving my departure country (US). The 96 hour window provides a lot more, and less expensive, options than the 72 hour window in getting a PCR test. Any experience with this?

Omnivore Oct 25, 2021 9:35 pm

I’m flying in on the 2nd but my resort gave me direct communication from the Maldives government that it’s 96 hours.

no confirmation on if it can be an RT-PCR (like ID Now)

Davvidd Oct 27, 2021 5:44 pm

It is 96 hours before your first departure. The test has to be done within this period. Once you start the flight then it is ok so long as you do not spend more than 24 hours in transit in another country.
