Exemptions

The following categories of travellers are exempt from the pre‑departure COVID‑19 PCR testing requirement:
  • All Passengers and airline crew travelling to the Maldives are exempted from pre‑entry PCR requirement, if they have completed the prescribed dose(s) of a COVID‑ l9 Vaccine approved by the World Health organization in Emergency Use Listing (EUL) or the Maldives Food and Drug Authority and at least 14 (fourteen) days have passed after the prescribed doses(s), Prior to entry into the Maldives.
  • Children below one year old
  • Flight crew arriving on General Declaration and not exceeding a stay of 7 days
Passengers who have recovered from COVID‑19

Check with the resort you're staying at before canceling your test appt. STR still requires a negative PCR test result (96hrs) to enter their property regardless of vaccination status and what Maldives entry requirements are (they responded to my inquiry today).

I had emailed Le Meridien on March 5th and they confirmed back via email that a negative PCR test is not required due to the recent Health Protection Agency announcement.

They are not supposed to ask for a PCR test anymore. Just checked with the Ministry of Tourism Maldives.

The Maldives appears to have further relaxed entry requirements. This from https://imuga.immigration.gov.mv/ethd

COVID-19 Travel AdvisoryRecent updates;

Public Health Emergency regarding the Covid-19 Pandemic has been revoked on 13th March 2022.

Important Notes;
  • All arriving and departing passengers via airports and seaports are required to complete the Traveler Health Declaration form within 48 hours to the flight time.
  • PCR result is not mandatory from any passenger during arrival and departure. This applies to unvaccinated travelers as well.
  • Travel-related quarantine is not required by any traveler. However, except the arriving tourists and Maldivians (residing in the Maldives) to the Maldives, other travelers are advised to do a PCR test between the 3rd and 5th day of arrival.

Yes they have an all mandates including masking has been removed. The Imuga is a PIA however and hopefully they will get rid of it soon too. Actually it was always a fight between the Immigration Department who does not want it and the Health Authority who wanted it. Maldives does not have APIS and this maybe a sort of APIS for them as they will have some passport details before the pax arrives.

FYI i confirmed with Cheval Blanc and Joali they still require guests to take a rapid test. Nautilus and Gili Lankanfushi do not.

A quick question about flights. I want to take the Emirates flight landing into Male at 0740. But my friend said I'd still be waiting for the seaplane as there's a Qatar flight at 0825. Is he right?

It depends on what resort you are going. Because there are three seaplane companies and they have different contracts with different resorts. If you can let me which resort it is I will try to check for you.
