I would advise anyone going to Maldives to cancel their trip too. Many resorts are getting quarantined and passengers from some parts of Europe and including Italy are banned from traveling.
Male the capital island is going to a lock down. Maldives has put a ban on passengers from some countries and regions including the UK and Malaysia and some parts of France, Germany, Korea and others. |
This is a time everywhere are lockdown and some hotels and resorts are getting quarantined and some Europ and major countries are banned fro traveling I hope after corona they will open and maybe that time make a trip any country where you can.

Although not on point to the discussion, this relates to the title. Any news/update on the new MLE terminal? The runway is complete, correct? And thus, it could regularly receive A380s? I assume the issue is just where to park an A380 until the new terminal is built

The Maldives is now open to all global tourists. Here's how they're doing it

Im planning to do a trip to the Maldives for vacation, I know don't judge, just wanting to know... If one gets sick during that time what is the nearest BEST hospital outside the Maldives that you could "MEDEVAC" to?

Wow. How annoying honestly. I was actually happy Maldives wasn't enforcing a negative test result. I'm going to be in Turkey the week before my arrival, I don't even know how I'm supposed to come up with a negative test result 72 hours before when I'm in another country.
|
Lol turkey is the EASIEST place to get a test right now. I'm coming from Zurich (which does not have rapid testing at airport) but after a huge layover from Split so now I have to go 6:30am in the morning in Split one day before pay $160USD to even have a shot of getting in. The way the flights work, if i get my test done two days before it will end up being like 52 hours so it needs to come back in 24 hours instead of the "up to48 hours" range it promises. I may now have to cancel. Ugh.

You can do a test in Turkey at Istanbul Airport , quite cheap but bring enough time. Or you can have a test at a hospital. Best is to ask your concierge at the Hotel, where you stay.
