Philippines Visa help

So I've been to The Philippines many times but never stayed more than the 30 days.
I have been wanting to go for more than the 30 days though and have been looking at the 29 day extension, however I am unsure if I can book a flight for say 6 weeks and actually be allowed to board if I do not get the extension until I arrive.
Also been thinking that due to knowing how difficult it is to get any official things done in certain places within the Philippines, maybe it would be easier to just leave the country for 24 hours and re-enter but I am unsure on their policy towards this.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

You will be asked for an onward ticket out of the country when you check in for your flight there. It just has to be a ticket out of the Philippines, it does not mater 'when'.

You can get the extension done yourself pretty easily at an immigration office, though if you are on vacation and dont want to trouble with it there are a million agents/fixers that will handle the leg work for a nominal fee. ANY hotel could get it done for you. It's no big deal.

You can get at 59 day visa before you leave your country. It would be much easier to get it done before you arrive in the Philippines. Here is the Australian website that shows the detail: http://www.philippineconsulate.com.a...r-tourism.html

I have stayed once for almost 2 months in my many travels to the Philippines. I entered on the 30 day visa, and got two extensions done by my hotel in Manila. The costs for this far exceeded the amount I would have paid if I got the visa before I traveled (see below).

See the following information pulled from the website of the Philippine Consulate in Los Angeles:

http://www.philippineconsulatela.org...rv-visa.htm#2c

Nationals of countries which have diplomatic relations with the Philippines are generally allowed entry into the country without securing a temporary visitor’s visa from the Consulate if their stay does not exceed thirty (30) days. Visitors availing of this no-visa privilege must enter the Philippine for tourism purpose and must hold a round-trip or onward travel airline ticket, which must be presented before Philippine immigration authorities upon arrival at the port of entry in the Philippines.

If the intended stay in the Philippines is beyond 30 days, an application for a temporary visa must be filed at the Consulate.

Tourist Visa (For pleasure or business)

The following requirements must be submitted when applying for this type of visa:

• Duly-accomplished visa application (F.A. Form 2). Application forms that are incompletely filled-out will be returned to the applicant.

• Valid passport (the original passport itself must be submitted) whose validity must extend at least six (6) months beyond the length of proposed stay in the Philippines.

• One 2" x 2" size photograph taken within the last six (6) months. The applicant’s signature must be affixed on the front side of the picture.

• A photocopy of the applicant’s round trip ticket to his/her country of origin or confirmed ticket to his/her next country of destination.

• Proof of financial capacity (e.g. travelers checks, latest print-out of credit card account(s), latest print-out of bank statements, ownership of real estate properties, and other documents showing the applicant’s capacity to financially support himself/herself during his/her stay in the Philippines)

• If applicant is not appearing in person before the Consular Officer, the application form must be notarized by a local notary public.

• The applicable fees for a tourist visa are as follows:

◦ Single entry valid for three (3) months: US$30.00

◦ Multiple entry valid for (6) months US$60.00

◦ Multiple entry valid for twelve (12) months $90.00

NOTE: The authorized maximum period of stay granted by the Philippine Consulate to all temporary visitor’s visa applicants is fifty-nine (59) days. If the applicant will stay beyond 59 days in the Philippines, an application for extension of stay must be filed at the Bureau of Immigration in Manila, or the Immigration office nearest to the place where the applicant is temporarily residing.
Being that you are in Scotland, you will need to check with the Philippine Consulate in Edinburgh. Fees would vary

Thank you all for your help
It would appear our travel situation is sorted, stupidly I asked my fiancee what her thoughts on it were and now we are going to Singapore midway through the trip.

I knew I should have left it as a surprise
